cusco/exedy?

i know the cusco and exedy twin plate are almost the same....

does anyone know what the differences are? they physically look the same. the reason why i ask is i saw a post by a vendor who was selling and had a deal on cusco twins. they stated in there post that it is the same as the exedy but "better"

just curious

Does he have the same deal on Exedy? IF so, get Exedy. I think they are the same, but stick with Exedy. I know their warranty/customer service is second to none. (Not sure about Cusco's). Hell, if they were the same, It wouldn't matter.

He has more in stock he needs to get rid of probably. You bit the hook, but spit it out.

I can't knock Cusco, have heard of them, and also heard they are the same, or close. Just stick with the "name" people use/trust most. Exedy in my book.

The cusco clutch is the same as the old exedy SD, The Exedy HD is far better.

I recommend getting the Exedy HD, the SD has a clamp rating of about 2200lbs which isn't really good if you have plans for more power out of your EVO.

Not only that^^, but the vendor your talking about....prolly Gruppe-S (the only ones who ***** them out that cheap!) are NOT an authorized dealer of Cusco....or half the other products they sell! They claim they can warranty cusco items through japan, but I wouldnt trust that claim!

I work part time for Nukabe automotive, and I know Gruppe S is one of many companies buying things grey market in Japan and whoring it out over here. Ever wonder why they offer the best prices but never have any stock?? Cause they never know whats coming on the container, so once they get it....they ***** everything out for less than anyone, collect their cash and wait for the next container. Whereas, other places know......OK, we are getting 10 Evo twin plate clutches, etc.

I have called them in the past, but they never have any stock. So after that and finding out how they run that place, I go elsewhere now! I also called them out on the warranty issue in the vendor forum and they locked the threaf on me!! Just my $.02

BTW, I have a cusco twin plate in my car.....LOVE it! If you have any questions about the differences, call Brad at Nukabe automotive 217-235-6060 and he will answer any questions since he deals with the manufacturers.
