What milage should i change Sparkplugs at?

Ive got an Evo 9 with 22k miles on it
Mods include:
TXS TBE
MBC
255 walbro fuel pump
K&N Cold air intake
Boosting at 22-23 psi
Tuned by Innovative tunning

I do 2-3 track days a year and 3-5 auto x's as well, also its my daily driver

I know the recommended specs say 60k miles but was wondering what you guys think and have done

Thanx in advanced

You change them when they need to be changed, its that simple. Keep an extra set at the house in case they foul out/or you start misfiring. Takes only ~10minutes to change if that!

personally i change them more often! my car has only 8400 miles and i am on my third set of plugs including the factory ones...

1st change was made at around 5000 miles
2nd change was made at 8300 miles

3rd change will be made at 10000 miles along with all car fluids (tranny, radiator, etc etc...)

there is really no reason to change them so soon. Iridium is a very erosion resistant metal...pull them out at 20 - 30K, change if worn

What should the life of the Iridiums be on an all stock car?

I agree with Soon2BEVO. Since your car is mostly daily driven you could probably get away with using them until you notice your car to misfire.

If you intend to only race your car at the 1/4 track and run leaded c16 in it, then you may want to consider changing them on a more regular basis. I am planning to change my plugs and O2 sensor at every oil change.

agree change them when its needed...now if you really want to monitor them just pull them and check gap and color of plugs at oil changes.

My old DSM I bought a couple sets of NGK BPR7ES plugs. I kept a set in the glove box to change if need be. I think I only went through maybe two sets of plugs the whole time I had the car witch was close to about a year. I always ran the car at 22+lbs of boost on 100 octane and gapped them around 0.23. Never had a issue.

As for Iridium plugs. I never could justify spending 30-40 bucks for a set of plugs when they aren't going to make THAT big of a difference over a cheap set of NGK. I mean for what you pay for one set of Iridium plugs you could have 3-4 sets of NGK.
