Damn Dave. I'm just in the market for a dual stage boost controller. Looks like I know where I'm going to get mine from. I was actually going to email you and ask you what you were using on your car.

I think I remember you talking about this a long time ago. How someone sent you a catalog and you didn't even ask for it. It's to bad Perrin didn't want to sell to you, I think you could have pushed quit a few of them. I know you pushed a lot of Forge MBC controllers along with selling your own MBC. Hell when I purchsed the Forge from you guys you stated that MBC worked very well.

I have to admit, the Perrin shory antenna I have kicks ***. At least I think it's a Perrin.

4BNGR could you copy and post a pic of Dave's new boost controller? Being over here in Iraq his pics come up with a X, but yours come up. Thanks in advance.

all the "it's simple capitalism" flag carriers who on one hand are happy to see Dave tell his story of stealing a design but then claim foul when china does the same. There is capitalism and there is also a world economy. It's hypocritical to sing the praises of one (especially when it's an american company he got the idea from) and denounce the other.

I was at David's house this evening and saw his MBC first hand on his white RS - the bottom line is that the unit he created is totally UNLIKE the Perrin unit

The only thing they share is that they are both in line - other than that the shape, design, size, pattern, etc etc is all totally different

It is not the case that Buschur copied the Perrin unit

While he may have been mad at then for resuing to sell to him and then decided to make his own - the bottom line is that the unit he created bears no relationship to the Perrin unit

Really, your memory is so short Al. In Dave's own words he admits to copying the unit You two are perfect for each other

I think Al's approval for what Dave has done is a good sign. What this means is that Al's custom flashes can now be shared amongst the community. All you need to do is obtain the flash secretly, make some small changes and then sell them as your own. I LOVE IT

I will pay $20 for any of Al's flashes, but I need to also know your mods so when I resell the tune it will be close.

The chinese just buy and attempt to make exact copies of tuners products using cheaper (poorer quality) raw materials, and MUCH cheaper, unskilled labor (with very poor quality control... if any). I think a few here are comparing apples to oranges. I think David is also correct in his statement about how the Ball/Spring MBC was all a copy of the original design.
Competition and improvement on each other's ideas is what makes the breed stronger. It's like tuner Darwinism. If a shop comes up with a truly unique product, I suggest they get a patent on it... otherwise.... deal with it, and keep your quality up and your prices reasonable.
Well said.

Your another one then. You better buy a bunch of one off parts then no Megan, Ebay, knock off O2 simulators and housings, no Apexi stuff either. Buschur did nothing wrong he didn't copy the Perrin and then sell it as his own. He wanted to sell it....that didn't work out he reverse engineered it happens daily in the business world and improved upon it. So, do you have the same issue with anyone that buys a hybrid turbo kit or puts in inconel wheels. I guess you hate FP Performance for taking a Mistubishi turbo and putting a new wheel etc on it. Why didn't they just make their own turbo from scratch? Same goes for manifolds, cams, heads etc etc etc.

The difference is Dave is MAN enough to say what he did instead make up alot of BS like most people would!

Yeah, good call. I could take my old (not really good) flash. Add .1 fuel across the board and now it's mine and "improved". Completely unique and ready for sale!

Wow, I understand both sides to this, but we can look at a lot of things in regards to this. First we all know Dave talks out of his *** sometimes but he tells it straight no matter what as I think everyone will agree. I also find it comical that Perrin created accounts to talk on this thread, as you can tell by their post counts. Dave redesigned something he saw an improvement over what he had and made a better product for us customers. BTW I do not have any of either companies products.

Thumbs down Wow

unbeleivable...

all you BR nut swingers are ridiculous......

obviously most/all of you don't own your own business, so you wouldn't care about the ramifications of having someone blatantly immitate your product, then turn around and market it that way (hypocrytically) to the same community you deal with.

if he wanted to make a dual stage boost controller.... fine... make one.... but don't come on to a forum and unprofessionally annouce and bash a company for not immediately wanting to sell you a product. Then, like a hot-headed teenager, shove it in your competitors face ...

I personally don't have any Buschur parts or Perrin parts on my car.

but let me tell you... because of BR's childish, hypocrytical, unprofessional business tactics, I will certainly think two and three times before I ever buy a buschur product, period.

and save the "should have applied for a patent speech" we all know that is a lot easier said then done....

in the end.... BR deliberately went out and bought a fellow american based product from an american company, and flat out copied it, then announced it, to truly show what kind of a hypocryt he really is.

I agree 100% w/ this post, people who are rocking BR parts are obviously biased to defend the man. But when you blatantly let everyone know you copied a product instead of just doing it and releasing a similar version to the market your business morale has to be taken into consideration. It's funny to hear all the sob stories of BR having a knife put in his back by supposed friends/vendors and now he stoops to their level. If you're going to copy a part, keep your mouth shut about it and don't post it like a billboard.

Is there anyone else out there who thinks this discussion is now pointless? As usual it turns into a crap slinging fest between people who do or don't support Buschur. It seems very few have an objective opinion about anything because you'll always have the a-holes that call supporters "nut swingers" (very childish BTW).

Mods, the post has been made, the insults have been slung and this thread isn't getting anywhere. I vote it be closed and let DB worry about the ramifications of his decision instead of wasting bandwidth about how it was right or wrong.

Dude, supporting a shop is one thing, I'm talking about the guys in this thread who can probably taste the sweat they're swinging so hard....(they know who they are)

BR started this thread and opened the can of worms himself.... I think it's fine that everyone has their own opinion....

I buy from whomever I think has the best product for my particular needs. I also do enjoy the innovation that Buschur tends to bring to the community. However, the hypocrisy and arrogant, swaggering attitude displayed by the OP (and not necessarily the improvement and production of someone else's product) will keep me from buying any future products from them. Hope that BC and this thread was worth the PR nightmare.
