My buddy made 640whp on Wal-Mart gasoline! Dat stuff is da shizzle fo' sho'...
i always run sunaco because i feel the car runs the best but, a point here or there doesnt make 30 psi sound safe.

david, were there any counts of knock at all?

I use Shell, Sunoco, Hess, and Exxon/Lukoil. All seem to be exactly the same. Ive never gotten a "bad tank of gas" like Al talks about every other post.

Octane numbers are measured under specific conditions of temperature, carburetion (and I really mean carburetion), and RPM, which don't have a whole lot in common with modern engines. The rating system was designed in the 1930s. For example, the Research number is at 600 RPM, Motor at 900. So two fuels that have the same measured octane number may perform differently at high boost with an 11:1 AFR at 6000 RPM.

David, tell Daniel congrats for me. The 20G-LT is a hell of a turbo and you and Robert did a great job of bringing it to the public. Now, as far as my own 3B (BUSCHUR BUILT BEAST), I'm afraid that tuning OKIX's car is going to be the closest I get to the track. I've got 4 or 5 people wanting to buy it and as you know, I have little time. Again, another great job on Daniel's car. You're still a DB though.

HAHAHA thats funny cause he was telling me he wanted to learn tuning when I was up there last on the dyno. He asked me if it was hard to do

Congrats you 2

So Dave is Daniel gonna be a 1 stop shop

All 93 octane fuel is not the same, for sure. Gas stations are mostly dishonest if you ask me and there is no Federal or State standard in the state of Ohio that checks for octane. They check for contamination but there is no octane checking, no telling what you are getting most of the time.

Al saying he sees bad gasoline a lot is 100% true. DO NOT BUY GAS A VALERO IT IS 100% JUNK. Every single car I have had here that bought gas at Valero knocked like mad.

If we ran this car on 94 Sunoco from the other end of town it would pick up a MPH or two I am sure.

I don't think Daniel is going to be a one stop shop. He wants to learn enough to move the revlimiter and make small timing/fuel adjustments. Says he doesn't care about the rest. Just make adjustments at the track while I am not there.

The compression of this engine is 8.8:1, it is NOT lower. We do not build any engines with compression ratios lower than they were stock.

Hmmm, so FPGreen + 30psi = 377whp = Impressive?

Dont get me wrong those are great numbers but at the same time I made more than that on 93 pump gas with a 20g-9 5 with 8psi less boost

Dave, are these numbers truly that high for the turbo/mods on the car?

I know Valero is junk and some other stations are sketchy like run down old Citgo stations. However, I think buying from the big guys like Exxon/Lukoil, Sunoco, Shell and Hess are very safe. I just think Al is ALWAYS referring to bad gas, but in CT it is mostly the big stations and I think he tends to really over do it on the bad gas example. I feel like he says it every 3 posts when I rarely hear any other tuners (including yourself!) say much about it if at all

Um did you made your power on a low reading Mustang dyno?

Why did David Lowe make 350whp on your dyno using pump gas with more mods? Did you just keep the boost down? If so, why?

dave's numbers are from his infamously low-reading mustang dyno...your numbers are from a different dyno....apples to oranges comparison.

now are you still unimpressed?

It was a baseline run, G. 23 psi I believe. After that run, DB cranked everything up and turned on the alky.
