If I were to purchase the eagle 94 mm crank. What else would I need? Would I need a specific length rod, or a certain bore piston? I mean obviously if Im gonna toss in a new crank I will buy rods and pistons. Just want to know if theres anything specific I need to get.

Whats its rev capability, The AMS rr engine that probably uses a 96mm stroke crank and is a 2.3 revs to 9100

So a true 2.2 with a 94mm crank should rev higher right?

No one can truly assign such a figure, simply because no one knows where/when it will break, and no one is going to guarantee that it won't. Likewise, it's pointless to attempt to spin it that hard (9000+ rpm) anyway unless a very large turbo (e.g. 42R) is used and the torque curve warrants it.

The reasons why JUN, AMS, and now GSC have developed such kits is because the slightly shorter stroke and better rod/stroke ratio allow the engine to be a bit more mechanically efficient at high rpm, and relieve some of the mechanical stress associated with the very short (1.5) R/S ratio of the conventional 100mm crank kits.

I bet you don’t see Eagle or those other 15 brands of piece of $hit made in China rod manufacturers doing this. Or even any of the American made rods. This is one of the reasons why Cosworth parts are expensive. You can be damn sure you’ll be getting a good part that will not fail on you though. He may talk alot of **** and big-game, but he can cause he backs it up. Look at his XS Skyline.
Thanks for the info,i already have a forged 2.0L cosworth lump for the dragstrip and am in the process of picking a stroker kit for the track.

Also, to explain what I am trying to say better try this scenario...I have witnessed statements on this board saying that JAM, a well-respected 4g63 player, makes a head that will outflow the Cosworth product...While this may be true, the heads designed for the JAM application may only be beneficial on a motor with a much larger turbo...Cosworth components are able to be used to see performance benefits for even the guy who wants to stick with a less-powerful setup (or even stock turbo)...While flow may be better with the head on a 37r setup, for example, the Cosworth will still see gains but with what they consider a fair safety margin...To some, rebuilding motors and replacing failed components isn't the issue (some would rather *****-out for power, to make posts to prove what these components are capable of doing)...That's cool, but what about the few of us who buy quality because we know we are getting better than OEM reliability...That is why there is a price difference, and it is well justified for the level of safety and state-of-mind that is included with expensive components.
Thanks mate, looks like i will stick with the cosworth 2.2 stroker kit then,my uncle who was on the Ford WRC Rally team told me to stick with cosworth, but i wasnt sure. Now i am ,thanks for all your help..

The Jun kit is definitely not upto the job, the crank is good and the pistons are made by Cosworth, but the rods will break if run for extended periods in motors making above 600lbs/ft. Norris in the UK has broken a couple on the engine dyno.
He now uses Crower rods and JE pistons running at 740lbs/ft.
