I plan on going with the stock cat back plus the QTP downpipe/cut out combination they are selling. Loudness is a concern of mine and figure this would the best of both worlds.

RRE stealth is going to be the most quiet. The muffler case and resonator are both way longer than anything I've seen on a brand name cat-back.

I've just recently put a Magnaflow Ti exhaust system on my car. At idle, it is louder than stock, but when you nail the throttle it's not that much louder than stock. I like it so far. Oh yeah, it's only weight 11lbs.

i had similar issues out here, I ended up going with a WORKS TBE with a stealth muffler. . .so quiet that it's unnoticeable by my fiancee when compared to stock! And visually, the muffler is the same as stock. . .I coupled it with the WORKS 3" DP, WORKS 3" HFC (off road), WORKS 3" resonated IP, and Stealthworks Muffler. . .check it out for the quietest, most reliable exhaust out there. . .and it's proven gains on my system of 20 hp/tq for the cat back system alone! (see sig for dynos)

I also did research and Turbo Magazine even did the exhaust shootout back in the day which made my mind up. I have a loud 97 GSX and wanted a quiet EVO so I opted for the complete Injen Turboback exhaust. Turbo magazine ranked it #1 with the quietest and #2 with the most HP which lost to a titanium Greddy or HKS for HP. Just food for thought!

any idea how much hp is lost comparing one of the <94db exhausts to one of the >94dbs like my HKS Hi-Power or Greddy? Reduced db has to mean some hp is lost.

Little to none. Generally loud exhausts tend to be due to weight reduction or cheap materials. No mufflers or resonators == less weight.

OP, you must listen to these guys. If it is quiet you want, there is no true 3" catback exhaust catted or with a test pipe, that is quieter and more free flowing than the RRE Stealth exhaust.

It incoperates 36" worth of resonators and the longest magneflow exhaust that can fit on an Evo. It is the quietest without gobbling up your tq an hp.
