To cam or not to cam?

I have an Evo IX with these items:
Perrin FMIC
Vishnu V400 flash
Perrin TBE with test pipe
Injen full intake with upper and lower IC piping
Anyone know what kind of WHP numbers this might put out.
But, my question is what kind of gain would I get intalling some 272/272 cams, springs, retainers and fuel pump? Is it worth the money and if so what cams are the reliable ones to go with?
Thanks
Mike

Seeing as how there are over a dozen different cam possibilities/combinations, you really have to be more specific.

Try searching for GSC, HKS, Cosworth cam gains on the forum. This issue has been covered ad noseum with detailed dyno graphs and seat of the pants opinions.

I have read alot of the other posts. I was wondering what would be good reliable set of cams for my particular setup. Not opinions but actual experiences.

your set up is basically the same as everyone else

you have common bolts ons

on a dynojet expect to see about 345-360 whp on a solid tune

proven time and time again, your setup is not much different than most. Expect to see about a 30 whp gain up top, and depending on which cams you go with, about the same in the mid range. GSC has been shown to make the best gains in the mid range for your setup, as well as gains up top. Go with the S1's, you won't be dissappointed.

an eddy current or enertia (spelling) style?

for bolts ons that sounds like an enertia dyno...

On stock turbo I rock the GSC S1. It increases midrange power with no compromise in lag or drivability. Gained around 15-20 whp in midrange, just my biased opinion.

no point in getting cams on a IX's with stock turbo if your worried about money to power gains.

scratch the cams and get alky injection.. youll be more happy
