as far as i know, ours is the only BOV you adjust with a different spring.
ohh ok but the theory is the same right by going to soft on a tial bov will prevent it from holding all the boost at the higher boost level

no, the valve has equal pressure top and bottom, due to more surface area on the top there is actually more surface area exposed to the pressure/vacuum so the BOV will never open under boost

The stock metal DV is fine for 26psi and higher if you GUS MOD it.

The SSQV is a known RICER mod that is designed for F&F style venting and is so sadly manufactured that it doesn't even do that well. Most SSQV cars sound like an oversized turkey.

Gobble gobble VTA FTW.

well we are seeing any where between 24-26psi for the stock metal so far, but the whole idea of an aftermarket one is people are going to have to upgrade at one time (let it be more boost or a worn out factory one) to fine out which is the best way to go and why one blow off valve is better then the other one. through out all these post we got :

- synapse vs tial & Synapse vs HKS SSqv
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU5Y6d9rh1k
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NQAcVgKPXG4

- tial came in the explain that proper spring selection is very important and that the video of synape vs tial the person was using an improper spring rate
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8-JTfgpFKrM

- HKS SSQV Version 2 surges to much
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfoX8-3FjuY

- HKS SSQV Version 3 Surges but not as much as version 2

- Factory Metal DV USDM or JDM good for 24psi-26psi

we need more people to come out and talk about the like and dislike of blow off valve and give good reason for there comments. the sound i could care less about as long as it performs to the way i need it to.

I am currently checking out the Forge RS ( adjustable ) 100% recirced. I am playing with it trying to find a good setting to keep the flutter away at partical throttle. I am trying to find that point where it just barely holds boost if what I have been told is correct. The reason for the upgrade is I run more than 25 psi at the track.

I'm beginning to think that the OEM metal DV with the Dejon Stop-leak kit is the way to go for a no fuss solution.

Ver 1,2,3 all the same it still surges in the evo. The BOV is actually a good BOV when you think about it what it supposed to do but in the EVO not a good choice. I only bought it cause I have one in my 2000 Turbo Si and it holds 30psi and releases no problem. But in a car that needs to recirculate not the best thing. I'm holding onto mine for this year then I'm selling it for a ETS UPIC and Tial recirculating BOV

i run a tial 50mm and love it. dont feel any surging and holds over 30psi. driving on the streets, it feels very comfortable, when i had the ver2 hks the car would joult between shifts and when letting off throttle. dont have that problem with the tial. i would def rec. this bov.

I have run 2 different blitz, and I had 3 of the ver. 1 ssqv hks and 1 of the hks type 2 race (single metal valve) I have had zero problem with the hks bovs. I did however have all of them vented back into the intake (rerouted). I then sold one of my hks ver.1 to a friend with a v6 probe (with a turbo). He had problems with the same ssqv that I ran for years that was flawless for me. so we tried to figure out the problem. The main differences were that my was mounted right off the turbo within 3 inches of the compressor outlet and the outside of a bend, and his was on a long strait pipe and a few feet away. Also he was using a questionable vacuum source. We are going to try his hks on my car again to see what the deal is. He is now using a really old blitz and is working fine, but he is only running 12psi on the probe.

But anyway with the version 1 hks that I was running on my dd (mirage turbo) I had no problems and I am on E85 and boost is set at 37psi. (I had used it up to 50psi one night, the ssqv worked fine and held the boost but my ignition was not up to the pressure)
