It's not a matter of what is proven to work its a matter of knowing what to expect out of shelling down your hard earned cash.

Why purposefully withold information when it is of no advantage to you?

If you buy a turbo and want to post what A/R it is that's fine. If you buy from us depending on what you are doing with it you could get 3 different housings with it. The standard housing is the .63 5 bolt housing. It works extremely well and is what we most recommend.

i must put my input in on this thread

granted im a twin scroll guy and yada yada. im extremely impressed with a friends car who runs a HTA 35r with .82 hotside. he let me drive it so i could really feel the thing at work. and i must say. pretty impressive. full boost was real hard to judge because well i never driven a car like that and as soon as u start to hit full boost you need to pay the hell attention to the road in front of you. is sure comes up quick. but it spools up FAST. real fast.

all in all if you dont go with the .82 hotside IMHO your wasting the money on the turbo kit and its not for you. .82 or go to a different turbo.

man you have a wonderful machine. keep it up and i must say. WELL DONE. we will have to meet up after i finish my car. even before hand would be cool just to chill. your a great person. thanks again.

I disagree, I would not want the lag from the .82 on the street. For a drag car only, .82 is great. For a DD the .63 is the one.

And I disagree with you sir.

you didn't take a ride in his car - I loved it, and that was the first time I'd ever driven a 35r and I'm running the stock turbo.

conventional 35r's, I'm sure I'd probably agree with you but his hta setup spooled "fast".

Since I'm running AMS's 50 Trim kit with a recirculating wastegate, and a 5 bolt .63 a/r 02 housing, when and if I upgrade to the HTA 35R will I be able to get a
5-bolt .82 a/r exhaust hosuing? Does one exist or should i just stick to the 5-bolt .63 a/r housing?

lets try and keep it civil unless we want the thread closed.

boosted, dan and I are coming from the unique perspective of actually having ridden in a properly built 2.0 with a HTA 3582....in our opinions, if you get THIS particular turbo kit, then getting an .82 hotside is the only way to go since it spools "relatively" fast, and def faster than a conventional 3582.

However, I think most, or at least I, would agree that normal 3582 turbos spool very slowly...This turbo kit is def the exception to the rule, hence dan's absolute statement that getting a smaller hotside is a waste.

Dan, please feel free to step in and correct me here if I'm wrong.

I know where you guys are coming from as I was on target to go with a .82 hotside, but if you do a .63 and have even faster spool think about how fun that car would be. From what I have read and been told by a few big builders the .63 will spool 300-500rpm faster and basically keep up with the .82 on the higher rpms as well.
I know there is a few hp to gain up there with the .82, please correct me if I am wrong.
