Changing from a .63 to a .82 and not changing any other thing - power went up on a Dynapack by 26 HP. This is not WHP which was 18WHP more on a Mustang dyno) Though the facts in this particular thread could have been summed up in one page.

The same Evo 8 also spooled 500RPM later.....(at 6000ft above sea level).... post the change. I could not see any real benefit, and the car was used mainly for 1/4 mile drags but this guy really wanted to stop his car surging at low RPM under WOT acceleration by inducing more lag .

All the dyno sheets ive seen indicate a .63AR/ 35R spools similar if not beter than a 35HTA with a .82 AR. As for final peak power ......yeah it makes marginaly more though im hard presed to say its worth the $500 cost.

Reminds me of the big hooo-haaaa not too far back over the release of the GT3082 (AKA 3040) which most punted as big progress for the 2L-2,3L cars.....

Each to their own in the end.

Unless you datalogged the SR20 on the dyno, or happened to be watching the boost guage and tach meticulously whilst it was being tested you have no farking idea when it hit 30 psi on either housing or if it even hit 30 psi........ so

you just lost an argument with yourself, keep it up.

Now i see why DB gets so furious with you

I just looked at the chart again and realised that I got the first half of the hp line mixed up with a torque line since they were very close to each other.

I guess my question to you somehow offended you. I have no idea why, but if typing insults and bigging yourself up at the expense of others makes you feel better day by day... more power to ya!

I run a .63 A/R PT housing with HTA 35R it works well and spools well. I have datalogs to post of spoolup. I wish others would post some of there .82 HTA's so we could see how they spooled. Alas, hardly anyone ever posts a log.

Yes because I derive much pleasure out of insulting you I was just merely pointing out what was actually being represented by the graphs so you were not confused, everybody makes mistakes, I know the two lines are very close just you are much like me in the fact that you love to ask questions!!!

Remember I did sell you that crank pretty cheap

Still have crank in garage. I'm waiting to try to do a full engine rebuild on my own for first time. Should be good learning experience. I have a old Evo 4 chassis stripped with cage I picked up cheap that needs an engine.
