David, do you offer that finish on your manifolds? I want my tubular header looking that way

Nice dance by the way

That finish is just raw. That's just regular SS tubing that's been welded up. Once it runs for awhile it gets that "gold" appearance. Over time, with enough heat, the color will change to more "brownish". I prefer the coating personally. Once I test these and decide what I am staying with the headers will end up coated.

Ohhh, okay, I guess I just like it RAW then J/P

So what's the coating you had on your old mani, the polished aluminum looking one? Does that change color over time as well?

Dave, you couldnt go over the mount and down with the dumptube??? would that make the oil return a little easier? I'd like to see the lower pipe setup on this and the T3 version.

is there a difference in sound from the cast manifold and the tubular manifold?

I am guessing its going to lose a bit of power.

Not bagging, by any means, i am all for new stuff but sometimes it don't work out. I have a feeling this will be one of those times.

I hope it works tho!

You said before that you have tried running 3.5 exhaust and didn't see any gain...Have you tried ruuning an open down pipe yet just to see how it does on the dyno?

Wow the runners are shorter! well the i guess you wouldn't switch hot sides and since the exhaust has a more straight shot less turbulence should be expected in the collector. I am eager to see the results!

lilrico, the coating on the old header is our silver ceramic coating. It doesn't change much over time. Holds up pretty damn good. Sometimes if it gets REALLY hot it will turn a little more grey than silver.

Steve@toplevel, I didnt' consider doing that as I don't think it would look good. I like to keep things tucked in and hidden if I can. The lower i/c pipe on this is just like our standard turbo kit, comes out of the turbo with a 90 and then into about a 160 degree bend into the end of the intercooler. The T3 turbo header I built I positioned over toward the passenger side more and lower, so it comes out of the turbo with a 90 and directly into the end tank of the intercooler, on the engine side of the end tank. That will require a new Race FMIC with the inlet on the engine side of the end tank.

evolved83, I don't feel there is really any noise difference in the header to the manifold kit. The header kit might be slightly "louder" but the tone and sound are the same. It might not even be louder, just a guess.

scoob2evo, why would you think this header will make less power?

evovin, actually I did try taking the exhaust off the car at the downpipe before, it made no difference. That's why I tried the full 3.5".

steve@toplevel, I had to go back and look at the pictures of the stuff as you had me thinking. I was right, going over the motor mount just wouldn't have looked right. I did try to squeeze it between the downpipe and motor mount though, that would have been ideal. It was so tight though I was sure it was going to rattle so I didn't do it there either.

Wow, I've been asleep I guess. David, this is really ONE FINE LOOKING manifold. As mentioned earlier, the symmetry really does it justice.
