Ya, his name is Ryan too. He no longer owns his Evo, as mentioned above, he sold it to get a Corolla for economic purposes I guess. Im still in contact with him though.

Hey guys, late night update. I was up at Forged earlier today. My block and head came in today! It looks great. I dont have any pictures yet, it was still on the pallet and was wrapped in plastic. We just cut a couple of holes in the plastic to see the ported race head. It will stay under wraps until we drop it into the engine bay. We also sent off the hot parts of the turbo to have a 2000 degree heat coating put on them. Assembly should start in the next day or two. We are just waiting on the cams and intake manifold now.

funny how people think AEM EMS are the best. People fail to realize Autornic, HKS, etc were out way before AEM even thought about making stand alone

The OP's tuner is a huge fan of the HKS FCON. I've never even seen AEM EMS in his shop. But he builds and tunes high horsepower twin turbo 350Zs from all over the country and a handful of other cars. He definitely knows his stuff and believes the FCON is superior to the EMS for a reason.

I guess people just don't know there are other options out there. I'm very excited to see how the HKS stuff does with this 2.3RR 37R setup. We'll have to go around visiting other shops on a mission trip to try and convert people from AEM.

actually yes. I have switched my cam choice from the JUN 272's to the Tomei 280's. At this point we are just waiting on the cams and the intake manifold to come in from AMS. For some reason the shop owner does not want to start assembly until we have all of the parts. I personally believe a great deal of work can be done before the cams come in, but its not really my call to make right now. Hopefully the cams will get here this week. (crosses fingers)

Are you doing a Dyno comparison between Jun 272 and Tomei 280's.

I would like to, but unfortunately Im not able to. Im not getting the JUN cams at all. I was told directly from AMS that the Tomei's make significantly more power over the JUN's, so Im trusting them on this matter and hope I will like them as much as I expected to like the JUN's.

Does anyone know anything about the difference between these 2 cams? I know the specs as far as lift, etc. I have never seen dyno numbers comparing the two, if I had a set of each I would love to do the testing.

I thought Tomei 280's are the cams that AMS used on their 1130AWHP Evo?
