My AMS 2.3RR 37R Build
***HUGE UPDATE***
Hey guys, alot of great news today. We received almost everything in from AMS. We are still missing the block, which I was told would ship out tomorow along with a few other parts. It seems that we are finally getting close to getting this thing put back together.
The big change that is being made is my selection to go with the HTA37R is being changed back to the stanard AMS 37R. After talking it over with the guys at the shop and a few other people who I will not mention, we have decided we did not think it would be worth it. Yes, I have seen the test results AMS released earlier today. I know some of you will fight me on this, but Im tired of waiting on stuff. My car has ben down 3 months and im ready to get my baby up and running again. I dont want to wait another few weeks to get the HTA turbo. I also dont want to wait to see the additional testing that will be done on it over the next few months. Im sure if something drastic changes and it spools 400rpms better and puts a ton more power up top, etc. i may buy one down the road. But by going with the standard AMS 37R, I think its possible my car will be back up and running in 3weeks.
Let me know what you guys think.

Not a bad choice based on the 37r thread posted earlier, the standard 37r has proven its ground time and again. There is no reason you couldn't just send her in at a later time to get the HTA treatment if you would decide to do so. I say get it up and running, Im really excited to see the results with this motor!
lol I was thinking the same thing. We opened the box and just stared for a minute before laughing and just couldnt believe how big it was. Here is another pic. Please excuse my buddy, he said the turbo made him hot so he took off his shirt. lol.

That guy is so goofy sometimes. I don't understand why he is on Evoatlanta.com but not here. So about 3 weeks, huh? You definitely need to come to one of Alex's Thursday night Canton meet. The fastest cars showing up have been MK IV Supras and a Twin Turbo 350Z. I think that 37R will stir some things up.

Ya man, as soon as I have the car back I'll be up there, although I wont be running her real hard until she's nice and broken in
Ya, AMS said the motor will ship out tomorow, which would put it at Forged mid next week. A week from then or less it will be back together and another week she should be mildly tuned for the breakin period.

A 35R Evo is common place, but I have never seen a 37R in person. How long is the break in for the motor? 1500 miles?
ya, the breakin is about 1500miles. Ill probably be safe and do 2000. Doesnt really matter to me, you better believe Ill be driving all over the place when I get it back. Ya, let meknow when you want to go up to Forged and I'll meet you up there. Thats the exact reason I didnt do a 35R, you see them frequently. I rarely see 37Rs and especially not on this motor, probably due to the high cost. Should be an absolute freak when I get it back.
You know I'm calling you out when this beast is broken in and finished... I just have to! Maybe just to see it in person and drool! LOL
By the way; I have a few weeks left myself. We will probably end up being finished the same time...
