LOL! I was just looking at how similar the shapes of curves are, not trying to start some pissing content etc.

Red/BBK curves just happen to look quite similar, which is all I meant by "interesting" - it seems the Red and BBK deliver power in a pretty similar way - nice quick spool; good early and persistent surge of torque, followed immediately by a rush of top end zing that climbs to redline. Power under the curve is what I'm looking for, not the peak numbers.

Red/BBK very similar compared to alot of the other options out there IMHO - consider your average stock Green dyno, with its HUGE torque spike up front (that's often taller than the power curve) , or to typical dynos of 3037s, 3065s, GT35s etc. that don't begin to really come on until 4000 rpms or later and have the torque rising in parallel with the power curve etc.

Of course I'm very interested to learn about the distinct nuances of both the Red and BBK as impressions are drip fed to us all though the interwebz :P...

Especially interested if the BBK will truly as competitvely priced as I am hoping too. I'm pump all the way and probably would never make use of the Red's ability to handle bigger boost, race fuel, meth etc etc. anyways.

Nah I was guessing on what my car was at at that point. My car hasnt been on the dyno since Jan. About 2 weeks after your tune we did my head and swapped cams and then i hit the dyno. I was guessing by my numbers recently to what they should have been around the time we ran before the parts swap. I think my car just hates Chads dyno now Or Chads dyno hates my car

I am truly impressed by both turbos. They each have there own good points. Depending on set up, use of the car and what your goals are will decide which turbo is for you.

For me and my goals the BBK fits me. I am very glad i was a part in this whole thing. I am very looking forward to getting the final version and putting it through its paces

Can anyone help me weigh the pros and cons of getting a new BBK vs using my core?

Other than money difference and slightly longer wait, I don't know why I shouldn't just send in my stock IX turbo. Is it because you want the backup for going back to stock?

I would send in your core.... if you ever decide to go back to stock for the sale of the vehicle you can put an old EVO8 turbo on the thing for $250.

we can mod the stock turbo no problem, as long as its a good core, its a set price... if it would need a rebuild that would be slightly more.

Do you mean that the price of upgrading the turbo doesn't include a rebuild and blueprint, that is extra? You can actually do the upgrade without fresh bearings and blueprinting the turbo? Isn't that a bad idea? To me it seems like a real bad idea.

Each turbo is thoroughly analyzed/measured to make sure it is within factory tolerances, if it is, new standard sized bearings/seals are installed and the assembly is balanced. If it is not withing tolerance oversized bearings/thrust parts will be installed at an additional fee.

The turbos carry a warranty. We chose our partners (blouch turbo) on this project because they build turbos for us all of the time, to our specifications and their own. These turbos are almost NEVER off the shelf (I have only ever ordered 1 gt35R from them in stock form for instance)... they are always hybrids.. and the failure rate has been close to zero.

We support our products, and this will be the same!!!

sorry for any confusion in my description!!!

Could you post a graph with just the compressor upgrade or maybe a comparison? From what I understand, the graphs in the thread include the comp + turbine upgrade versus others. Thanks
