LOL ... If that were true, no one would ever buy any other turbo unless they were trying to run 8's.

Chad has already said more than once that this will not make as much power as a FP Red on a properly setup car. But it was never designed for that.

you never know in the world of tuning 2 yrs ago who thought 500whp on 93 was capable (don't quote me)

Quote: i hate to say it, this turbo wont match a red at higher boost... the red flows 10lbs min more than our turbo... this was designed for exactly what it accomplished today... MEGA pump gas numbers...

power under the curve, spool, transient response, and good boost up top..

check

DSMs were making 500whp on pump way longer than 2 years ago.

The power curve sure looks alot like a Red but from what I've seen form the last 50 pages the aim of this turbo is more of a 50 trim killer or 3071 killer than a 3065/2076/GT35 killer like the FP Red if that makes any sense.

BBK is also designed to give good gains, quick spool and fast-as-lightining response on pump gas, not so much targeted towards the big boost, race fuel drag crowd.

If it spools quicker than a Green and pulls strong right up to the top, with a decent increase over the stock IX turbo over the entire rev range on pump gas then what I'm after and that's why I'm stalking this thread.

SO far, I think this puppy delivers and we've only seen half the turbo so far

Hope it comes out soon...I need a turbo pretty quick!

This turbo is going to be equivalent to a Green. If I remember correctly I think Chad said it will flow 38lb/min. Isnt a Green right around that? Remember, that 427whp Charlie made was with a stage 3 head, aggresive cams, a sheet metal intake mani, etc. And if you look at my sig, the conditions that day were OPTIMAL for peak numbers. I bet on a bolt-ons only car this thing would make around 400whp which is about the same as a Green. I think Caleb said his IX made 376whp on the full BBK with stock IX cams, stock uicp, and some other things. The area under the curve is what might be interesting to see, not peak numbers as it is said to be a bit more responsive than the Green. So that should give a clue as to what this think will do for us bolt-on daily driver kinda guys.

Agreed, the flat TQ "curve" is what impresses me the most. That with the quick spool and nice gains up top make this the ultimate street turbo in my opinion.

You're misremembering. That's less than stock. Add 10+ to that.

The built head certainly lends to the broadness of the torque curve.

I have mild head work and revolvers (among other stuff) and am very curious to see what my combo produces.
