Has anyone heard of BYC racing?
got the intercooler, its a good looking piece no doubt about that, fitment is another issue...i have the injen intercooler piping and it does not line up well, i was able to get all the couplers on and tight but not as comfortably as i would have liked. I used t bolt clamps and really squeezed them on, hopefully they stay on. Then when putting the bumper back on, there is a plastic piece right about the intercooler mesh/grill that pushes up against the intercooler, was able to the the bumper on but again was a very forced job. Will take off bumber to examine probably within the week, let you guy know what i found.
u have to remove some of the little plastic pieces in the bumper, they are bolted on if i remember...this only applies to the evo 9 i think...just remeber ur using the maximum space needed to put this on o ur going to have to move somethings around a little, but there should be no issues with piping fitment..u sure the upper braket wasnt bent during shipping? try adjusting the braket and the piping should be a snap....again the feedback on my ebay tells all..no issues with fitment unless something is amiss..
The injen pipes doesn't fit that well because the injen pipes were made for the 8's. They did not consider that the 9 would have a cam sensor, so that creates an issue with the pipe rubbing against the intake cam sensor. The pipes did not line up as the well as it would if it was the 8.
As for the bumper fitment issue there is an excessive bulge, but what would you expect from a bigger intercooler. I did have to force my bumper on also. I decided to keep the plastic pieces because it routed the air to the oil cooler.
And as for finding a time to dyno, I am currently installing ported goodies from Buschur. I will post my numbers with the BYC racing intercooler when I am finished. I know, I'm taking a long time.

So what's better? XS Power/SS Autochrome or BYC Racing? I have found a lot of products like these are underrated just because they're cheaper than the name brand vendors. XS Power is one of my favorite most under rated parts manufacturers. I probably wouldn't build a 1,000hp Evo on their parts but for saving some bucks on an Evo that'll never see more than 400 or so horsepower an XS Power Intercool isn't a problem IMO.
I also had problem installing with injen uicp.
Had to cut portion of my undertray to fit.
anybody know where to get good couplers?
Need something new flexable coupler for my injen uicp
tried using radiator pipe(only one small they had) on my bov and its too thick and not flexable(i think its leaking) rpm going up and down time to time when idleing

Why don't you guys stop being cheap asses and support one of our vendors? The only reason you guys can post and search about Chinese made knock offs is because the vendors keep the site running. A unit from ams or ets isn't much more and a far better unit.
THANK GOD SOMEONE ON HERE AGREES WITH ME!!! ^^
these intercoolers are probably just a bit more efficient then the stocker
we wouldnt know cause we never got any info as promised like 4 months ago....
SUPPORT THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW PARTS AND IDEAS TO MAKE OUR CARS BETTER AND MORE POWERFUL... not some chinese company that runs a sweat shop to keep cost down

My car is at a local shop right now being tuned. I know, it's been a while since I posted this thread, but installing everything by myself takes time. My car is not the only thing I have to take care of and I'm sure a lot of evo owners knows how it is.

quit your crying ive bought plenty of stuff from the vendors dont tell me where to spend my money unless you would like to do my job for me and earn my money. just because i saw something cheap and want to buy it until i can get something better doesnt mean i dont support the vendors. like i said if you want to earn my money than you can tell me where to spend it otherwise shove off!
No offense to anyone, but I just can't justify spending $800+ on an intercooler when I can spend $200 on one that performs JUST as well! At the end of the day, it is just an intercooler! Now, if it were a turbo or cams, or something down that road there is no way I would buy a knock off. And yes, there were a few people that did dyno runs compairing the Xs intercooler to the Ams. Just search for it
Alot of people making alot of power and people that know they're **** run this intercooler! (Well mainly the XS one) I was recommended it by 4wheelslide...
But everyone is different.....
