Evo 7 Injectors (Impedance Question)

Hi, Sorry for the newbie question here:

I am currently adapting an evo 7 ecu to run on a different mitsubishi (non-4g63) and need some clarification on the injector setup to ensure that I don't burn out my evo 7 ecu.

Currently the engine in my car is running high impedance injectors with no resistor pack.

I am planning to run the evo 7 injectors and evo 7 ecu.

Does the stock evo 7 use a resistor pack?

The Evo uses a saturated style injector driver system, so you'll need a resistor pack when using the Evo 7 ECU and injectors. Or, if you've got a few extra $$$, the FJO peak & hold injector driver kit might be a nice addition.

Hi, thanks heaps for the reply.

Do you know where I can find the exact specifications of the resistors I need to wire up?

Probably the same as the Evo 8/9. Both use a 6.0 ohm resistor. Most vehicles that use this hybrid system with a saturated driver and low impedance injector use a resistor that's around 6-7 ohms. Expect up to about 1.5 amps of current at 14 V. The resistor needs to be able to handle the power. You're best bet is to get an OEM Evo 7/8/9 resistor pack. They are an individual part that can be bought.
