35r Dissappointment then Happiness

Well installed my 35r kit with Meth injection and was highly upset when I went to the dyno and the most we could pull out of it was 24 psi and 300 hp, figured it was just the wastegate spring being maxed out. I then pulled the plugs later on that day which were NGK BPR8ES's and had been run since around 12,000 miles. (car is now at 52000 I know I know, retarded) Well I'm driving down the road the next day and decide to romp on it, holy crap, all 4 wheels spin for a second around the 5500 rpm range and my profec b is saying that boost peaked out at 32 psi. Apparently the plugs weren't burning any fuel because any attempts to boost past 15psi results in the car starting to lean out. Guess it's time to retune with working plugs and see what this bad boy cranks out.

I know, we were baffled, he just looked at me strange after the first pull. It should def be above the 400 plateau.

I would have thought it would start breaking up. I know when my plugs went bad.....it was after a nice pull to 162mph ***on the track***...hehehehe. I decided to go get some gas and when I got onto the on ramp I rolled into the throttle and it fell on it's face. Did your car not act like this on the dyno?

Your tuner should have asked you about your plugs! Plugs have a huge impact on the performance of turbocharged engines.

it's actually just an RNR turbo manifold, the rest is pretty much custom. yeah no break up but after I changed the plugs the readings shot up into the lean area from 15psi on, sooooo yeah, made a drastic difference. Oh well now we just gotta add more fuel and crank out the POWA!

Doh! Change your plugs before they go bad! At least every 15K miles, $60 on spark plugs can save you thousands. If your pushing over 400whp change em more often....IMHO.

Well got more dyno time at gotham racing on monday, intially about 2 weeks ago cranked out good power on another dyno but they're notorious for making people happy so going with gotham to make sure the numbers are legit. Just gotta pray now.
