You will have to measure your A/F ratios to determine if you are running too rich. If you are, then sure the AFC will fix. Some of us here in the US are getting 40 whp from this mod, but our A/F's are extremely rich from the factory for safety (lots of room for improvement). I suggest that u take your car to a dyno to check out the fuel curve. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Hmmm Sounds like English prices for gas....I don't miss filling my car up over there that's for sure....Sooo glad to be in the US.....

Dyno Graph

BadazzCR has my vote for best bang for the buck. Very nice job!

FWIW here is what I recorded back in May at Altered Atmospheres AWD Dyno Jet. Modifications at the time were 1st generation Evo Xede w/stage zero map (no boost mapping capabilitiy), Vishnu 3" turbo-back, 93 Octane pump gas.

Awaiting delivery of Stage 1 Xede upgrade (boost mapping function) and cam gears. Scheduled to go back on the dyno in October after Stage 1 installation is completed. I'll post results when I have them.

That is kinda low power for a full exhaust and mods, must be the tuning and boost.

[quote]22 PSI (maxing the turbo out so it tapers 19PSI), {/quote]

Big 16G can make and hold 25 PSI to the red, some have held 28PSI. Th eproblem lies in two areas. One is the STock BOV, the other is the Wastge gate spring, which is quite weak to prevent over boost. If you disconnect all you boost controlls, you'll get like 12 PSI or less, after 20 or so it may start to open prematurely. You may want to tighten the wastegate or get a HKS sping which will make minimum boost 20PSI.

But the turbo is No where NEAR maxed out at 20PSI.

My car put 203 awhp with RMR catback, dp, UR 3" cat, and K&N filter on an Australian DynoLogic. The number might seem low, but stock EVO on the same dyno pulled 175 whp at most, and stock STi was 190-200 whp.

wow thats not a very ego friendly dyno haha...

our car pulled 240 out of hte box at cobb tuning (ahhh so thats where the tuners get those crazy numbers!! lol!)...

91 octane, ~4000ft, ~100 deg +

240 stock

285 : burscher turbo back w/ cat bypass, s-afc, mbc, blitz cone

299.7 : same... 100 octane curve, leaner still..

we actually got a recall in the mail saying that the evo's were so rich stock that they actually didn't pass federal emmissions.

its a tough lil SOB that car tho all we use it for is auto-x and track events. we drove the break in miles from SLC --> vegas, then proceeded to burn thru a set of tires and a whole set of pads in 3 days at a porsche club event. brought it home and put 3000 more miles on it auto-xing it and to/ from events... so far nothing but brake pads and tires...

the rear diff seems to clunk if you try to shift it too fast.. but its always done that? simple solution don't shift so fast haha. other then that, its rock solid... it didn't even get mad when we were cheating some pretty major curbing thru an S bend to keep up with the guys on slicks thru there, no damage from some pretty serious slamming.

it needs a race clutch for all those auto-x launches... and we're still waiting to find out the hot setup for coilovers / springs / sways... for those track junkies out there Hoosier has a tire that fits it btw... just check there site.

Yeah, they do run disgutingly rich from the factory...their way of trying to ward off ping. Fine tuning the A/F alone should get some power out of it.

I am seeing a HUGE variance in the numbers...which is good. Too many people are too reliant on reaching someone elses exact numbers with the exact same parts...but this is almost impossible. There are just too many variables.

But good god...from about 210 up to 240whp stock? Damn. I need to hurry up and get my 944 Turbo before I start getting beat by you guys. Very nice indeed.

My g/f is very close to buying an Evo. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to talk her into it. He he!

Here are my baseline numbers from last week:

I'm concerned about the big drop in hp above 5000. I was on 93 octane pump gas. The torque numbers look very strong for a stocker. They had a sniffer in the pipe, when I go back for my post catback run I'm going to try and get the raw data file so I can look at the boost and o2 readings, my car runs way rich up top, like most but I wounder if mine is worse based on the steep drop in torque and hp.

I wounder If I have one of the cars with the undersized manifold to turbo gasket, (yeah I know, wishfull thinking, and this has been covered and it seems only a few fall into this catagory. Mine is a first allocation car and it won't hurt anything to look so...)

Mad VIII, those numbers are actually REALLY GOOD for a stock car dynoed at Knowledge in Atlanta (Woodstock). They have the most pessimistic dynapack I've ever seen in my life. I like that shop, but hate the way they run it. When it comes time for actual XEDE fine tuning, I'll drive to another city.

Thanx Noize

the subbie dealer in gwinnett now has a dynapack up and running and open to the public. I'm considering going to them for a new baseline before I test my exhaust prototypes in the comming weeks. They charge $100 for the initial run and then $80 each time after the initial (calibration is saved between runs so it takes less time).

PM me if you want details on the dealer
