This was a good read.

We will just have to wait and see other tests on other cars that have upgraded from the IX to White

Don't get frustrated buddy..........................

This was a REAL test on a REAL car. Not a race car, a daily driven car. The results are posted. Razor has posted enough info. What else would you like?

Yes there was a lot of hard work done to this turbo i am sure of it. But at the same time by looking at the graphs the stock 9 turbo out performs the white. This turbo is still good for VIIIs but what i did with my VIII is i bought a 9 turbo. I was going to send it in to have it turned into the white. But i figure why spend $600 on the white when the stock 9 turbo out performed it. And this was on 91 oct with a evo that had just bolt ons. Just because they worked hard on it and spent money on building it does not mean they succeded. Because looking at that graph i would say they faild end of story. The stock 9 turbo is the way to go if not get the green but the white needs more "testing" to get that magic number every one wants. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SHOW US THE LIGHT WITH ALL OF THE GRAPHS U SAVED ME $600.

Yea I think it will/is a different story with full builds. I would love to try out a full build with these stock variant turbos. It's a luxury I rarely see from our customers in Kalifornia however.

Razor, as I can see from everyone responces I was right. This ONE test is gospel to half the people and now the turbo is "the same as an IX turbo" .

I just want to be sure:

Theres NO chance the car is down on compression? or has different less knock resistant gas in it? The o2 sensors are in JUST the same condition? and so are the spark plugs?
Or are we speculating?

Again, I like and appreciate what you do, but I don't beleive that this turbo will always perform the same as an IX turbo on a bolt on car

Edit again: PLEASE do not take this wrong. I am just throwing out there things people need to realize before "throwing in the towel" on this turbo

Yea not really the responses I like to see, however it is Evom, which unfortunatly can be like this sometimes. I guess take the bad with the good.

I think everyone should bring it down a notch, again this is one piece of data of a "real-world", "normal" whatever you want to call it Evo so lets just take it for what it is right now.

I can see if he has the time/ is willing to check the compression on the car. Again this is a customer, not a shop car, so it's just like any other customer coming into our shop.

I know for a fact he did a boost leak right before this, he has always been good about that. No leaks.

As far as I know the 91 is from the same station. The 100 is from the same supplier. We don't have octane analyzers at the shop so it's not something I can check plus he is 100 miles away now. Fuel trims are spot on just like before so front 02 is working fine. No spark plug break-up that I could tell and nothing showed up in the logs. I can ask him if he can check the plug condition, but again, it's up to him as he is a customer of ours.

Thank you for taking the time for such an objective and thoroughly documented analysis, Razorlab. Very surprising results!

Although I'm as surprised as anyone else with the numbers, and the shape of the curves even, they don't lie which is why they'ere important. But I fully agree that it's much much too early to for people to simply write off the White so quickly...I see this as just the first (OK, the third actually - besides Robert's car and 9sec9's car) in a whole bunch of White installs that'll find their way onto a dyno, eventually forming a pretty reliable matrix of data from different cars. Once we have data on a few dozen White installs then we can talk about verdicts etc. It's surprising how quickly people are to from opinions but hey, it's the internet thing perhaps.

Like most others I'm eager to see some numbers for the Red on a similar bolt on/pump gsas car now though.

Again, thanks for taking the time to do it right and share your results!
