An interesting dyno comparison of two EVO's
I do understand that my testing helps us greatly. I guess what I meant to say is I am going to be more secretive about what exactly we are doing. Like in the case of the new turbo, just listing the specs and giving everyone the ability to call any shop to buy it is over and done with. Let these dead beats do their own testing and find parts that actually work. A lot of the shops that are supporting the EVO market don't own an EVO, don't set records, don't race and some have actually used test results from vendors who do those things to compare what their knock off parts will produce. ENOUGH of it already.
We are working on something else right now that is going to be just completely bad ***. As a matter of fact, we are going to actually work Saturday this week to build and develop it. It will be the next big thing for the EVO. I am freaking excited about it and cannot wait for the day I can make the post with dyno charts, detailed pictures, 1/4 mile times etc. It is going to be a big effort from multiple people we work with already. I'm completely geeked. It will get complete information put out when it's done because there will be only one place to get it, us
The weeks to come are going to be awesome.

I'll be waiting for that post too

can't wait to see what it is you're working on!
Incredible results and turbo's are changing so fast these days I can't imagine what 3 years from today the cars will be making power wise.
Dave do you do any pressure differential logging while dynoing?
I don't blame you for not releasing new turbo specs, dyno and track results you're putting up and your long standing rep in the DSM community is plenty to sell turbo's. Though I don't have and EVO ( 1G ) I'm appreciative of your time in pushing the cars so that even the 1G and 2G cars can use your turbo info and keep up.

David, Do NOT give out the specs. You put in the time to test this stuff, you should be rewarded for it. Why give away something for nothing. There are so many shops that take the stuff you have done and made $'s by making a direct copy. The problem here is people want it easy, they do not want to think for themselves. I have nothing against looking for a good deal, but we need to support the companies that actually do their homework and test parts rather than the posers that use others hard work to make a quick buck. Just my 5 dollars.
If it can be easily copied I'm not sure keeping things secret is going to help.
I'm not saying release all the specs before you even start selling the thing. But producing no nonsense dyno comparisons and such is what I mean by being "open".
Right now there is a ton of people saying this turbo is better than that.
AMS says the 850R is a new option
Simon Norris likes the T04Z
Mike@AWD is talking about new Precision Turbos
FP has the Evo Red
Buschur has this new turbo
But so far, not one of these turbos spools as well as an HTA 35R and makes more power (although I think Simon says the T04Z does). The Red is probably the biggest standout out of the bunch as being something special. But anyway, I think I'd be happy with any one of them and not unhappy with any of them really if you know what I mean.

So far it looks like the new Buschur turbo is making the sickest times.
AMS hasnt been setting records with their 850 (and when they tested it, they tested it against the basic GT turbos, not the HTA versions)
Mike will also be testing this turbo.
The red is a great turbo, but it all depends on what you want. Its not the same kind of turbo as a 35R type. Its made more for faster spool with some up top power. Were not all going to get 9sec9s results of a 9 second pass, since he has more than a few custom parts, its a drag car, and it is on VP Import which most of us dont even touch.
Buschur so far has shown this turbo is pruven. It has made 9 second pump runs and a 9.1 on race. So to me that is by far the fastest and quickest out of all of these.
But you are correct, most of the turbos out now, no one will be dissapointed with.

MY 2 cents on the FS635. I think its a bad business decision to keep secret the specs on a turbo. Even FP who makes their own turbos and has the right to keep specs secret if he wants doesnt do that. People are far too information oriented these days to try and keep secret something that cant be kept secret anyway. It would be one thing if Dave actually manufactured the turbo, but we all know he only tested it. If precision had an agreement to Dave as having sole rights to selling the turbo than great as well. But the truth is several shops tested this turbo and its not a secret.
No disrespect to David for his hard work and all. AMS tried to keep the 850r secret buit that just led to too many questions and inquiries, so they posted what it was. Whatever works for you I guess.

I'm sure some people will take issue and go elsewhere but personally I don't have a problem buying a turbo from Buschur without knowing the full specs on it. I just need to see some dyno/track results to help me pull the trigger. For example I bought the BF272 cams based on the results of others with them...it's kind of hard to argue against something when it's been proven to work great so many times.
i have to agree with mellon..specs and this and that are one thing but results and showing people that a product works is on another level... dave keep that brain moving and the evo community will have nothing but good proven products in there cars...
Mine would be going for 9s tonight if anywhere around here sold Q16! Bastards!
Oh well, there will be a nice 55 gallon drum of it sitting my my barn as of next week! So Ill no longer have to worry about getting it! There are going to be a few more cars in the 9s here soon!

So what if he doesnt give up the turbo specs... honestly not many people here can actually look at turbo specs and tell what they mean. All they look for is other peoples results on the turbo and make their decisions based off that... Now some people are saying "Well I need a turbo to maxamize my setup and without specs I cant pick it"... well to you I say... if you need a specific turbo then call a turbo manufacterer and have them build you one... for the rest of us, take Daves word for it... 1/4 mile times speak for themselves!!
If you use Buschur Parts w/ a Buschur Turbo you will run 9's... easy as that.

i think 9's on your car is a TALL order on race gas, i mean thats just me opion but u may think different and seriously i hope u do run 9's but in realality i dont think race gas is gonna get u there u did 10.66 on pump and meth so i dont know if race gas is gonna get u 9's but anyway best of luck getting there!!!

I have full faith in whatever David would suggest to be the best option for my particular setup. When it is time for me to choose the right turbo for my goals I will trust in Dave to the fullest and will not consider anything else.
I as well have purchased the BF272's , I Do Not need specs of any sort. I know they work. It has been proven time and time again. So actuall duration and lift , I could give 2 ****s about. They just make power along with the whole Buschur combo. Its a no brainer

. Good Luck
