Also a 3065 cannot just be upgraded to a 35r. It is a different manifold. It can however be upgraded to a 3565 which is effectively a 35r but with a DSM flaged turbine housing. Call it being picky but it is fact.

Red is almost perfect. Also people who expect HUGE numbers on pump need to realize that the power you make on pump is dependent on a lot more than the turbo. You can make a lot of power on pump if you up displacement, ru lower compression and improve VE of your motor.

Yeah no joke.... and you failed to mention it was on the edge of self destruction along with POWER SHIFTING. Not everyone on here has the resources you may have. Some of us have to be concerned with reliabiltiy....

Actually Trents car (IHUNTV8) has almost 20k on the motor build and is driven an hour each way to work every day! Yes he beats on it on the track, but its just as reliable as anyone elses! Hes just a damn good driver. The car has full interior and AC and everything else! Its on an AEM EMS, but is all off the shelf parts. Its an excellent car to look at for what a RED can do, unlike 9sec9s car that is 1/2 custom parts. Anyone here can do what Trent has done, then you just have to learn to drive like him!

Trent has already said he did NOT power shift with the Red. The turbo didn't drop boost between shifts badly so it wasn't necessary. The car is far from "on the edge of self destruction". Like Celica2evo said the BR 2.0 in Trent's car has 20k on it. He races the hell out of the car and it still holds together. Don't be salty just because your car blew up.

LOL.... Salty far from it. I could care less honestly about the Red, green, purple of whatever color comes out next. Mine is much bigger I just know form experience unlike others that have never had or been in a fp3065 car that it dose very well.

Has anyone even asked what he is using the turbo for? Or what his goal for the car is? If you just want something to tool around town in I would suggest the Red. If you plan on building the car to race, ie built motor, the 3065 might be better for you b/c you can always use the mani, o2, etc. and just swap the turbo to something larger. I have been running the 3065 for a few months now. I run 110 leaded all the time so I really cant compare to pump gas, but it pulls like a raped ape. Block is stock other than head studs and a 272 cam. I cant wait for the HTA to come out, that might make some people take back what they are saying about the 3065.

I really liked the idea of the red at first. But after seeing one fail at the track(road racing) after 3 weeks and have heard of 4 other ones in southern California that have also taken a ****....I don't think too much of them at all.

I would go with the 30r to be honest with you. A little more lag will not hurt you, and it will help you with gas mileage when you are just cruising and not in boost. I like bigger turbos for DD myself.

That's a funny statement as both these turbos in this discussion are made by Forced Performance. The FPred and the 3065 are FP products.

Turbos arent made by fp.... the wheels are. And it is a bit different your sticking a large HTA3076 wheel in a stock 16g compresser housing, where as the 3065 turbo is a true garett housing and is used in both the 3076, 3065 and 35r (cold side of the snail).

3065.....

That's great, fact of the matter is that both are FP designed turbos and the person I was quoting was basically saying 3065 is a better choice because it wasn't a "FP" turbo, which in fact, both turbos are "FP" turbos.
