FP Red or BR 3065
Ive seen a lot of good things out of the 3065. Take my buddies car for example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSs9wcdoK84
car was full weight ( 3450 with driver) had a cast manifold and the two step was set high enough to launch a space ship :-d. with a 1.77 60ft he was still able to hit low 11's with a best of 127 mph.

It hasnt broke into the 10's since it did when I owned and the date of that was May 7, 2007 when it went 10.83. Thats when it made 502 here at the shop on 29psi. The car was sold 2 months later.
For those that dont know I was the first one in the country to put a 3065 on an Evo. I do also still hold the quickest & fastest "records" for that turbo on an Evo with a best ET of 10.83 and a best MPH of 133. I feel the car when I sold it with another couple lbs of boost and a better 60' would have went 10.5/10.6 as the 133mph I recorded on a 11.40 boggled run is enough to put the car in that time range.
This was the first 10second pass it made.

To be totally honest the 3065 at the time I feel was a great turbo as it fell into a category that now has been filled with the likes of the Green and the Red. Many people have "copied" my build as the performance #'s, lag, times, etc... were good for a street driver.
To be totally honest I dont think we've sold a 3065 kit in the last 6 months. All turbo sales now are Green's, Red's or HTA35/37R's and now the FS635. Then there are the few guys who go with the 42R's.
If I owned the car now I can say a 3065 would NOT be on it. The 3065 is "old and outdated". Things have came a long way since I built that car as far as turbo choices and what not.
On another note.... when I first built the car with our stages 1-4, HKS 272 cams, 100% stock block, head, ignition, intake manifold, etc... it made 342whp on 22-23psi & 94 octane on our dyno and 462whp on on C16 and 19psi. The car with 18" wheels & standard radial tires at full weight ran a 11.04 @ 128mph in 90 degree heat on a 1.74 60'.

I have been in pizza boy's evo and it is a beast!!
Thats what made me start this thread!
As far as what im using the car for, i would say a little of everything a little auto x and mostly drag but i want something that i can drive to the track and not have to worry about a trailer.
He has my old car Trent.

But it was good when you owned it.....and for some it still gives the option of up grading turbo's (because we all know we are never happy). And the future upgrade of the HTA3065 (maybe). Thanks
And your car was very nice.
My dad can beat up your dad... cause he is MY dad!
I swear... sometimes people's bench racing is worse than their stupid NFL afflictions... although, this is sounding MUCH more like a NASCAR debate at this point!

I see the turbo upgrade path as Green, Red and HTA35R.
As far as I know there will NOT be a HTA3065.
Thank you! Keyword being was.
Here is a vid of a 9 I owned last year. I liked the old az 30r dave made 4 years ago more then the 3065 for dd.

Lag is determined alot by parts combination. Granted it can not totally be totally done away with as bigger turbo's will lag but the right parts combination will help tremendously. It plays a HUGE roll with overall performance & numbers as well. Not all parts perform the same no matter what the intraweb expertz say. If they did there would be only 1 shop building parts.
I can answer just about any question you have with the 3065 as well as there are many threads ive talked in about it as well but like I said.... I personally feel there are better options out there now. Feel free to PM me if you like. I'll be glad to help you get setup with what you want.
