man, you should go with the boomba 75mm TB

I actaully had a hypertune TB on order for like 6 months. But when the Boomba came there really wasnt much of a reason to keep waiting for the Hypertune.

I just got tired of waiting, they are CRAZY slow.

the boomba allows the use of the stock IAC and TPS.

BTW the seals hold great. I boost leak tested my setup and it held fine at even 45 lbs of pressure.

That's easier said than done, being that it would require me to remove the manifold and send it back to Tom at DI to be reflanged. Needless to say, I am incredibly frustrated at this point in time.

Is that the stock paint on the valve cover? If not please give me the powder coating info. That COP setup looks so nice.

That powder coating was arranged by Andrew of Dyno4mance (www.dyno4mance.com).

Dude that's a sweet setup! I like how you wrote "this effort sponsored by no one by myself" I just finished getting my turbo kit installed, but now that I see yours I'm kind of wondering if I made the right decision. Do you have any dyno sheets?

No dyno figures yet. Why?

I've been waiting to receive a replacement Hypertune TB for almost two months now. The first one had the incorrect seals and leaked. The one I have presently has a spring with too much tension, which creates a compression issue with the rubber grommet on one end of the cable, such that the effect is insufficient throttle travel.

I am tired of this car being crippled by unusable throttle bodies, and am losing my patience.

Ted,
Was FP able to supply the 1.06 turbine housing? I'm ordering the same turbo and they offer it only in 1.00 A/R Divided T4. Full-Race offers the 1.06 housing through ATP Turbo... so that leads me to believe you..

A) Bought the turbo from Full-Race with the 1.06 housing
B) Bought the turbo from FP w/out the turbine housing and ordered the 1.06 from ATP
C) Bought some other turbine housing with the HTA3582 and then ordered the 1.06 to replace your existing housing.

Can you comment on the quality of the casting on the turbine housing? Might you have some pictures of it or the port work?

Do you have any logged pulls with the setup? I'm interested in a boost vs. RPM plot. And if you have it... the same plot with your Open t3 setup? If you have just raw .xls files I can do all the work.

Thanks Ted! I'm switching from the FP Red in an attempt to make more power than ~500

My turbo setup is custom fabricated, and IIRC, uses both an ATP manifold flange and ATP hotside (which is a 1.06). One thing you want to remember is that whatever hotside you end up using, you want the same brand of manifold flange, as ATP to Garrett makes a slight mismatch that will require a little dremel work to perfect.

I don't have a more capable MAP sensor at this time, and therefore I have no way to record boost into the log. I would like to do that, so I'll have to look into it. Last I knew, the only direct replacement is a 3 bar sensor, and that won't be enough.

As for a comparison with my previous open T3 setup, I don't need a boost gauge to know the difference, primarily because I don't need to even get it into boost to know the difference. The TS T4 is more torquey at all throttle settings, and you cannot resolve that from a WOT log. I would never go back to an open housing.
