When do you hit full boost? evo9

I was just wondering, when does a bolt on evo9 (stock block) hit full boost? I hit full boost about 3400-3500ish (24psi) is that about normal? and its at 21 by 7500rpms. Because b4 my buschurracing intercooler i could of swore it hit boost faster but i could be wrong..Mods are in my sig..

thanks

It probably did hit boost faster before. With the larger intercooler, you're going to lose a little pressure. That's why when you read descriptions of larger fmic's, they say "only 1.5 psi pressure drop, or only 1psi pressure drop". Theoretically, I believe you will need to run a little more boost to achieve the same amount after the fmic. The point of upgrading is for more efficiency and support for more power.

Your car sounds about right for a bolt on evo 9. It's supposed to spool quick and hit full boost fast, then drop off towards the end.

i've noticed max load hit at about 3400-3500 rpms. i cant log boost yet so i'm thinking that the full boost translates to max load. i'm still on my stock fmic @~23psi

Do I have a boost leak or major boost spike? Last night I was driving around and boost was at 23 psi like my orignal post and today I was boosting around and the boost was right there, hit it again and boost hits 18 psi I'm thinking to my self what the heck so I turn My mbc all the way down and set it where I had it and it hits18 from 3000 to 5000 and shoots to 22 by 6000... I'm confused

I noticed the same thing when I upgraded my FMIC. Boost took longer to spool but hit harder. My but dyno told me I had better top end.

ewwww mbc. Even with temperature change it will go crazy. I have had countless problems with MBC's. Lag, boost creep, slow boost reaction, partial throttle boost unstabilty, you name it...i could go on all day. Best thing to do, which i plan on doing asap is sell your mbc, buy a GM 3-port solenoid and tune it with a tactrix. No more worries after that my friend. Also your boost gauge could be off. Especially if it is mechanical. Do a couple logs and see what your really boosting at.

Yea, I hated my old MBC. There was always something going wrong. I found a Greddy E-01 and it's been working perfect since day 1.

It's just a little bit sluggish I think. If you adjust the actutor rod a bit you should be seeing 24# by 3200.

Im having similiar problems with my buschur racing MBC. Ever since I installed it i've never been able to dial in a consistant boost level. My target is 1.4Bar (21psi), but it spikes well past 1.5Bar on my stock gauge, which is a major concern.

When I turn it down, it goes way down to 1.0Bar. I just can't seem to find the sweet spot. Any ideas? When you guys are cleaning them out, what are you using to re-lubricate it?
