I think that is time to see a 4g64 based engine, builded by BR.
My suggestions:
*100mm long rod 4g64
*OEM ECU
*GT3076HTA .82R

Yeah your right about the head, intake manifold and the TB, I was like why not do something different, but why not with stock ecu, Mellon made 700whp on the stock ecu

I'm with the "stock appearing" crowd. Pop the hood and show nothing.

what I would like to see is something like this

take a 2.4 block, put a 1.6 turbo colt crank in it, making it a 1.8 liter destroker of doom, then massage your transmission to be able to shift at 12k. now you have an evo that would behave like an F1 car

Pick a number. 500. 600. 700. Whatever. But make it a torque goal on the dyno instead of HP. And since we are in an economic downturn, getting there while spending as little money as possible would make a good point about the value of EVO performance. And you are already committed to keeping the car as it is, a practical family-car.

Maybe this would work:
BR 2.3L
BR stages 1-4 (1,000cc injectors)
BR HKS cams (prolly 272/272 would be best?)
BR clutch
BR O2 (eBay)
stock head
stock IX turbo
stock ECU
stock MAF
stock TB
stock exhaust manifold
stock intake manifold
stock coils

Tuned for both E85 and 93.

Well DB , I love what you been doing already 600awhp on pump daily driver doesnt get better than that.

Like I said before, I drove the Bad Bish II and that was perfect for a DD

Actually it's my favorite car right after mine

Dave, I would like to see you try to do something different than the normal builds you do, chart into territory you don't normally go into.

Say a 2.1 using a 4G64 block, aluminum rod, high compression, map switching for 93 and E85, and say a BBK full or Green. I am really wanting to see an all around excellent street car, a very well built balanced car. The cars you have been putting out recently have been really too powerful for things like autox and roadrace, the 600+ whp would be very unsuitable for AutoX courses.

I would love to see a very streetable car, well balanced that does everything well. Not purpose built to do any one thing good, to do it all very well.

I'm with CB... The only things I'd really like to see that differ from the BR norm would be a HFC and stock ECU...

Other than that I'd say push as far as you can... With a cat and a stock ECU you have a pretty legit street legal car.

I agree! It would be pretty awesome to leave the Cat on.

Make a 200+ MPH evo. Standing mile. You and the drag racing thing have been played already. Move to something different that only a small handfull of Evo's do.

I sure do like all the input!

It seems most of the input so far is something other than a 2 liter, something other than 600+ whp, stock framed turbo, stock ECU, emmission legal, stock appearing type build. That's what I seem to be reading the most.

A few things that I can't do. I am starting from old cores, used blocks/heads. I do not have used complete engines here and have no desire to drop in an unknown quality used engine. As for knowing the limits of the stock engine, we all know that already. Emery from STM went 10.0's and the engine eventually failed and ruined a good block, $1800 down the drain for the block replacement. We've built many-many 400+ whp stock block/stock head stock framed turbos. Very few problems doing that. Eventually though the stock piston or rod is going to fail and once again cost you for that perfectly good block that gets ruined. The bottom line on the engine is, whatever goes in the car will be built, it's the only logical choice. If the car had the stock engine in it, I'd stick with it. In this case the engine and head will be built for sure. It's going to make for some nice pictures and such anyway.

Just wanted to clear up that one things on the engine/head build. I'm starting from nothing so building it is the only logical choice.

Also, we did the Time Attack thing already for 2 years and did pretty well at it with the "Magnum". I would like to use this car for autocross and road racing more so than drag racing.........but the biggest intention is just a kick *** street car with a/c, power windows and that is very quiet.

As for the 200 mph standing mile, that is one of my goals for this year with my RS. First for it to run 8's, then go to the mile with it.

david, i would love to see u build a monster on the stock ECU.

im pushing a lot of power on it, and hope to touch on 600whp this year. mellon obviously does it too. i would love to see u stay away from the AEM and push the limits on the stock ecu with us guys!
