Red does make more power, there aren't many Tomei arms out there, I've only seen one user diirk selling his Tomei turbo. I am sure he's never had the Red before so that would be the next size up turbo to go with. Until people experience the problem on their own then they will get something else. Long term reliability and response Tomei arms wins, it's up to your needs.

As for the tt s205 i was reading on lancer register that a lot of people there would chose the red over the s205 even with the problems the red has over in the UK.

Power is not everything. Spool, response and quality win hands down over the 20/30+ hp that red is making. I would always go for the more reliable/quality product - especially when i run a lot of track days.

well this is getting ridiculous. we just want to see some results, im sure the tomei could be pushed further with the bigger compressor housing that it has. hopefully this turbo becomes more readily available.

Did you come out from under your rock yet and realize that FP changed the RED's compressor housing too, or are you just going to keep looking like an idiot?

i admit the tomei and bbk is probably a better turbo if you do track days. for 1/4 then go red.

let's see how the new compressor housing works, they should have done that since the day one they design the red, Japanese company will never put a big wheel in the factory housing.

As for the TT s205 the two people out of the probably 5 people with fp Red's have flocked them for TTs205, FP dont command much of a name in UK as they keep falling apart

The problem I can see with teh S205/6 or whatever is the most recent one is that it simply would be cost prohibitive to have one sent over here to the US with the exchange rate.

How much would it be for one? I would be willing to try one out over here in the US if I can get it for roughly the same as a Red, and as long as it is a DIRECT competitor to the RED, being that it will blow the same rough CFM numbers.

http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=246874

Its £1259 plus what delivery would be $70.00 roughly.

Only trouble they are on back order TT can't produce enough of them at the moment. Best contact Alan Jeffery's of engine tuner ltd as has helped develop them for TT and is the man in the know and he's cheaper than TT via MLR for s205's.

This isn't a hybrid IX unit it is a bespoke turbo with oem Mitsubishi fitting with different Bearing ect...

Another two non-mivec Evo's made 500+bhp@fly on pump fuel this week. I was 99% there but have held off from buying one to see how the Tomei unit performed but no dyno's have come through.

How about you guys get your own thread if you want to compare the FP Red with the TT S205? This thread is about a Tomei install. Thanks

The Red is NOT a 20g!! It's compressor is an HTA and similar to a 3076/30r. Also the Red now comes with a bigger housing (80mm from the 63mm stocker) . People need to do their research before spouting misinformation, as fugiwara clearly has a bad taste in his mouth for FP. Spreading poo is not cool.
