I have been driving the car around for about a month, Chad. Outside temps are averaging 114 or so over that span. Running no fans on the radiator at the moment. Hottest coolant temp I have had is 204 after a pull, and sitting in traffic for about 10 minutes bumper to bumper.

Damn, thats a pretty efficient cooling system if you're not even using fans.

Well, it was a rough night at the dyno, but I thought you guys would want to see the numbers for comparison sake.

It pretty obvious this motor will shine on E85, but 22psi on pump gas just isn't into the sweet spot of the turbo. The car only made one pull on E85 before blowing a freeze plug out of the block. Going from 22 psi on pump gas to 28 psi on the first E85 pull netted 140HP and 120 Ft/lb increase. Thats 23 hp/psi, which seems pretty good to me. My tuner also said that pull was very rich and the car would make around 600whp at the same boost when properly tuned. That leads me to believe it should be well in the 650+ range with mid 30's boost.

He also thinks its very likely that that HG is fine because 1.) I used crappy freeze plugs (I didn't know any better), and 2.) There was no water in the oil and the overflow reservoir didn't overflow. I'm hopeful that I can just replace the freeze plugs with OEM ones (I used Doorman from Autozone) and my problem is solved.

I also think its possible that there was an air pocket in the cooling system because I just put the turbo on and the car had only been run a couple times since doing so.

Anyways, here's the graphs. I'll keep you guys updated.

FWIW:

Dustin: If you had sent me a simple PM on here i would have done everything i could to get the dumptube issue resolved. I understand i can't always get to the phone as we are busy in the shop and apologize if that was the case, but i always get my PM's and answer everyday. With that said you didn't buy a "Kit". You bought peices to complete a kit. The manifold you purchased second hand was from someone who was fabbing their own downpipe and dumptubes and if i recall was using a small radiator. It was also one of the earlier manifolds before some very slight changes were made. Any of the new kits using a 44mm wastegate (38 mvs is easy and what i suggest now) I strongly suggest using a radiator such as the CBRD, that is one of the first things i told Gotwheelhop when he ordered his kit.

I have no problem handling this in a reasonable way and wish you luck with your setup, however filing a chargeback for a random amount is not the best way.

Don't act like you're Mr. customer service now, just because I filed a chargeback for 1/3 of the $1500 I paid you for a KIT. I was willing to drop it and not tell everyone what ****ty service I received from AFI, but if you want to talk about it I'm more than happy.

I called on two separate occasions before ordering just to confirm that EVERYTHING needed would be included, and I was assured both times that was the case. If I wanted to build my own kit I would have done that and saved a lot of money. I asked for the O2 housing to have 2 bungs, it showed up with 1, the oil line did not fit the turbo, the two water fittings did not fit the turbo, the oil return line did not fit the turbo, the driver side dump tube did not fit with the radiator. Not only did I buy all new water and oil fittings, but I modified the dump tube and added a bung to the O2 housing. Now if you had told me before hand that this was a possibility that would be fine, but instead you said you knew who I bought the manifold from and that it wouldn't be a problem. In the end I modified or re-purchased every part except the LICP and the down pipe. $1,000 for those 2 pieces is very fair, and I am now regretting not sending the whole thing back to you and getting all of my money back.

BTW, I sent two emails and called 15+ times before deciding to file a chargeback. The message machine always said mailbox full. I did my due diligence, and it is not my responsibility to track you down so that I can be made whole.

yo dsevo. awesome build. Always nice to see Temecula in any headline. Saw you went e85.

Dunno if you're aware but we can get 100 and 110 at the pump in Temecula. sub 7 bucks a gallon currently. Doesn't compare to e85 pricewise but its right here.

one day a stroker would be great... I don't think I'd have the patience though...

Thanks. I used to run the 110 from the pump over on Diaz, but now I have a 55 gallon drum for E85. E85 is a beautiful thing.

I got a spare one from my work, but I'm sure you can find one pretty easily. I would try craigslist, or walk into the store at the Down's Energy on Diaz and see if they sell them. There's a station in Oceanside on Oceanside Blvd. that sells E85, and that's only 34 miles from my door.

It runs like a raped ape, and to be perfectly honest, its not a safe street car, lol. I was only running 20psi on the last tank of E85, but i upped it to 25psi half way through. That change alone made the car have almost zero straight line traction if temperatures are less than 70 degrees. I cannot imagine have another 200whp and it even being remotely usable anywhere but the track. But, it is a helluva lot of fun to drive. I'm still trying to figure out the high idle, so I'm gonna put my stock injectors and tune back in today just to narrow my search.
