Sorry but my english isn't so good...what do you mean with "1.25 schedule 10"? The diameter is 1,42" or 1,25"??

He means 1.42" outside diameter and 1.25" inside diameter.

do you know the diameter of the full-race stock frame mani?

the diameter on the full-race looks a little small or is it me?

Don't know, but I'd guess that it the same - schedule 10 1.25".

The 1.25" schedule 10 piping (weld els) measures 1.42" in I.D. (Inner Diameter). The 1.25" in size is refer to as nominal pipe size. A thicker schedule 40 in 1.25" piping would have a thicker wall than a schedule 10, however the I.D. of a schedule 40 of the same size piping would be smaller.

Pipes and tubings are measured differently. A 1.25" tubing measures 1.25" O.D. (Outer Diameter). However, a 1.25" piping measures 1.66" O.D.

So whats the best ported stock manifold to go with? The tubular manifolds r a bit on the exxy side.. Are they really worthwhile over a ported stocker??

I had some doubts, then I had the opportunity to try out the FiD Tubular manifold at my buddies Race Shop, DB Performance.

did three baseline pulls with the MAP ported stocker, swapped to the FiD manifold right on the dyno and 30 minutes later did three more pulls without touching boost or the tune. Picked up 20hp over the ported stocker but more importantly picked up power everywhere with really minimal increase in spool.

Here is a link to my testing.

My car holds HP pretty well out to 7500 even on the stock IX turbo. It is more "laggy" then a ported stocker, although, I wouldn't really call it laggy.

It seems more like it takes away a bit of the "hit" when boost comes on but I don't really find myself waiting for the turbo to spool ever. It makes power delivery more linear, which is something I would rather have then that hard hit of torque that tends to upset the chassis under corner exit.

I think if I build another manifold though, I'll be using stepped primaries in the 18"-20" length range.
This guy is a liar.

I never found myself waiting for the turbo to spool while driving. But watching an in-car video of my car at an auto-x I am definitely leaving a lot on the table with the response I'm getting on the larger runners.

A new manifold with smaller runners is definitely on the to-do list for this winter. Possibly some TME9+ turbo upgrade action too.

Stock turbo record was run on a Buschur ported and coated stock mani.

Any other questions?
