With the bigger compressor, and bigger hotside, I am sure it will make the same power at much less boost pressure, and a good deal more with the wick turned up.

You definately wern't going to make bigger power at less boost in the same small housing. Your last turbos were dying becasue they were being overspun largely in part to that backside. Running the bigger housing opens up VE, which would lower the pressure required to max out the turbo, which lowers the speed the CHRA needs to spin.
People buy "spool" and max power. Ultimately a turbo will make whatever power it can, reagardless of the housing, so big turbos get crammed into small housings so they spool better. The problem is, when you run them on "kill" often enough, you grenande turbos.

Agreed, after testing the new billet 6765 in T4 .68, Harry at Precision is sending me an .81 A/R.

The Supra guys are using the .96 A/R T4 if that gives you any idea of what this turbo needs to breath.

anyone got a towel? Need a little cleanup here. That looks sick, if only I had the supporting mods to run that monster.

Just to give you an idea of the .68 T4 getting choked, look at the lack of gains after 25 PSI.

25 PSI

33 PSI (Full Boost at 5300 RPM)

33 PSI with -4 Degrees Timing on the Intake Cam Gear (Full Boost at 5600 RPM)

So after reading all these pages and seeing how psyched you were to see results you havent exactly raved about the turbo. Are you not as impressed as you thought you would be? Have you not tried it out at the same boost numbers you were intending to? Whats the dillyo?

It wasn't what I expected it made 780 at 46-48 psi, I never changed the back housing to a bigger one because I would have to switch alot of stuff around so I'm just leaving it like that and see what she does, but I probably go back to the 6262 and call it a day.

dyno:

another one diffrent smoothing 3

Are you using an Open Scroll or a twin Scroll T4 manifold?

I'm using a twin scroll manifold, but the turbo is an undivided housing, so it makes no difference.

Sharkbite, you would be MUCH better served going to the .82 T3.

A .63 on this turbo is crazy, you'd be better off with a 6262 with .82 A/R and a broader powerband.

Like I said, I am testing all three housings for Precision, but feel confident I'll endup with the T4 .96 A/R.

Time will tell, but if its too laggy on the RB26, I'll probably add a 50 shot to spool it up.

You got it , I think also I would make better with a 6262 and 82. a/r for sure it will unleash the hidden power that's missing, I'm going to switch my AMS set up very soon and going with something else that 63. back housing is not cutting it but im very limited with the AMS kit.
