Please help confirm/identify the issue

Hey dudes, first post here so bare with me please.

I just hit 51k miles and I've been noticing this issue but can't confirm what it is. I'm getting close to the recommended 60k mainance that includes changing the timing belt, but I'm thinking it's the clutch. No, I don't get the common loose-timing-belt squeaky noise.

Say for example:
- i'm going 55-60MPH in 4th gear, around 3-4k RPMs, and I give it some gas before I shift to 5th, (and I don't mean floor it) it'll rev up for a second and then drop back then before it catches.
- Or more commonly in 5th gear, up and I try to accelerate 70+ but just revs up for a split second before catching.

it feels just like an automatic car with a bad tranny that slips (like a 66mustang i used to own).

basic mods:
- aem short ram air intake
- headers, turbo-outlet, downpipe, cat delete, cat-back
- boost gauge
- h-bar

Some background info:
Been an Evo IX (gsr) owner since Feb'06, yes same Evo haha. And it's been pretty much been my daily driver ever since. I've taken care of this baby mainance-wise and I don't abuse her, never been crashed. Let her warm up a couple of mins before i drive off in the morning. She breathes smoothly with her exhaust. I don't use the rev-limiter launch or any type of clutch abuse at all, unless you consider driving the canyons which I don't do anymore and didn't quite often.

but anyways any info is welcome, thx dudes

just test it, go into second come off the gas and then stamp it.

revs should go up.....if you dont go anywhere then clutch is gone.

definitely sounds like the clutch most of all if you still have your stock clutch in there.

Results: So I tried that in 2nd & 3rd gear, and the revs don't go up all crazy. I actually get a better response/grip when I punch it in 2nd & 3rd gear. It's only happening in 4th & 5th at 4k+ RPMs. Which leads me to believe maybe it's not completely gone yet, but should still get changed ASAP.

Oh and ya same old stock clutch since the car was bought. Figured the time was nearing, I just never owned a manual tranny car long enough for the clutch to go out on me so I wasn't sure when and what to expect.
