In a few months I will be doing a new bottom end on my 03 Evo 8. The shorty will be done at Buschur Racing and my issue is should I opt for their 2.0 built block or the 2.3 stroker block. My car is daily driven and will be staying on the stock head for awhile.

I also will be choosing a turbo. I am looking for an ultimate street build with great spoolup. My goal is to be around 500whp on a mustang or more on 93 octane.

My mods:

Buschur stages 1-2
Buschur BFIC
HKS 280/280
Walbro 255
ARP Head Studs

What would be the ultimate street setup with the power mentioned above and great spoolup?

heres a thread with a little info on what your looking to do, search some more and you will find some good info, i woudl say check out the FP red turbo.

 

I'd go with the 2.3!!!! well I love my setup, and I dialy driver it! I do think that i am going to go with an hta35r now cause now, I do want more power!

 

I'd like to stick with the stock ECU and stay on pump.

Basically what I was looking at was doing a RED with Tubular, o2 dump, etc and try to get 500

Or, just doing a build and going with a bigger turbo.

 

ill be that guy, this has been covered a million times.. go with a 2.3 and fp red..

 

If you decide to go 2.3 dont do FP Red.. the point of a 2.3 is to gain spool with larger turbos.. Do something like n HTA Series turbo on a 2.3, or a 6262 like I am doing

 

I remember seeing a thread in the dyno section of a 2.3/red, I think it was called the ultimate street setup or something in the title, and it made 500/500 with very fast spool.

eh,, the HKS VCON pro starts up like stock so he doesnt have to deal with hard starts
