Taylor -- On a factory 9 turbo, the cams will not yield that much. If you are maxing out your system (meth and high boost), then you may see a bit more hp. The bigger issue I would be concerned with is the quality of the aftermarket cams and the MIVEC groove.

My recommendation would be to stick with stock cams until you go with a bigger turbo....

Great thread!

quick question; I have been reading quite a bit on cams and I noticed many people are saying that the cossworth on the ix's are causing that missfire cel code, any thoughts of this happening on the rest of the brands? especialy the 4R's ?

Thanks

any 272 cams will be fine on a IX turbo.

Intake
cams

And maybe a intercooler hardpipe kit.

Question is what are the best cams for the stock 9 turbo?? Is it still the GSC S1's??
Thanks for your help in advance!!
taylor8, running about 10-15% more power than you can get out of a stock 9 turbo, we lost power moving to Cossie M2 (despite retuning), and made more power than another 9 on the same turbo running more ignition timing and more mods with HKS272. On a 9 I would stick with the stock cams below 500 BHP.

I'll let you search the 38 page thread full of idiots if you like:
http://www.lancerregister.com/showth...ighlight=green

I know it is called FP Red, but somewhere in there IIRC johnd posted his Green and Red graphs. His Green made 462 BHP on 99 RON and stock cams. After Cossie M2 he made 450 something, and still made less than the original stock cam figures despite different positions of the exhaust cam wheel.

Don't compare UK dyno results with US dyno results also, in fact probably don't bother comparing dyno results at all. I hope the results you are looking for are in the thread, but it is mainly junk talked by idiots in there!

page 10 of the above thread shows the 450 is BHP results from different exhaust cam wheel positions on the FP Green. I think the 462 BHP result on stock cams is somewhere else.

All the cams did was ruin the idle on this 9. Since we had 400+ WHP on the Green on 99 RON I don't think it was my tuning.

I'm not doubting but can you show some examples of people who are making 400hp with mod lists?
