crank pulley removal???
help im in the middle of doing some bottom end work on my car but i dont have the tool to get the crank pulley off. i was wondering what other solutions or tools i could use if anyone has done this before?
I tried that and the motor still turned against the clutch (act). We even took a long extension out past the wheel well and broke the extension. The only way I could get it off was with a pneumatic impact gun, a big one, and it still took a little bit, but it finally came. There's also a tool to hold crank in place.

I have a really good impact gun. The crank bolt laughed at it. I used a bar I custom built for the flywheel, and a pipe on a breaker bar. See below.

I'm sure you can rent a pulley kit from advanced auto parts or someplace like it. And to keep the crank from turning, just have someone hold it with a flathead against the bar of the engine stand. Assuming I'm understanding your problem right...

i have all the bolts out of the pulley. when i looked it up on the net how to get it off there is a tool that is use for it. but i dont have that tool...... ill take pics of where im at so there is no confusion
All I have ever doen is put the bolts in the crank damper pulley with about 1/4 in of slack and use the factory crank damper to hold onto and use it like a small slide hammer and just pull it out and let it pull the crank gear off. You do need the main crank bolt out to do this though.
