The spec clutch is 8.5 diameter and the fingers need more travel than the 7.25. My idea was to increase the master cylinder bore diameter. This would certainly reduce the pedal travel needed to get the cover disengaged. This would give the syncros several micro seconds more time to do their job.
You need to reread what we just wrote. Tilton master cylinder is what we are replacing with a larger bore unit.

That's what were doing with the slightly larger Tilton master cylinder. In reality all I'm looking to do is disengage the clutch about 0.2 of a second quicker. The larger master SHOULD make that possible.

You'll find that Ted B loves his clutch however. While you are breaking in the clutch for several thousand miles, you are abusing your transmission because the clutch is not fully disengaging.

Thanks for solidifying my decision to get an Exedy Twin Disc, I'll be getting this with a TTR clutch Fork Stop too.

what about the spec singles? the 2+ and the 3+ look interesting with 499 and 595 torque capacity? I curious of the increase in pedal pressure some would not be bad as I have no interest in a loud chatting clutch or a rough engaging puck design. Ive had act2600 on my dsm and it was okay but a bit on the heavy side but after all the bad act reviews on the evo I want to go another direction but the twins seem like overkill.

I have no experience with those, but if you go that route, judging from what I've read about these clutches in other boards, I would go with the 3+.

If you do, report back.
