FP Red vs. CBRD Version 2 BBK

I have been looking at both turbos and they both seem to get great reviews and great feedback. They both seem to have similar abilities.

Which one would be better for a street, not much turbo lag, and the every once in a while strip use?
What are the characteristics of the two?
Is the BBK more comparible to the Green or Red?

Its more like a green from what i hear. but i dont really know much about that turbo. what i can tell u is that i have a red with meth and i love it. The car should have come with this turbo stock imo. what i also can tell u is that the red is capable of well over 500whp. with similar torque #'s. All those big turbos have tons of hp but lack in torque. On the other side the smaller turbos have lower hp #'s but awesome torque #'s. Hp is nice but torque wins races! Its good to have a good amount of both and that is what the red does best. Good luck with ur decision!

BBK is more like the Green. Red has more lag, but way more WHP and WTQ capabilities. Not that much lag diff tho... around 500 rpm diff. give or take.

i think he is talking about bbk2 , wich is a bigger turbo ....

call cbrd , and get the scoop on this turbo , let them tell u if this is a good set up for u

fp red is a good turbo if u have the supporting mods to make it shine at high boost , if ur going to buy an fpred to do 22pounds its not a good idea , high boost and it will shine buddy , this red loves the e85 ,

That's because it's not yet out.

Dunno why the OP is already comparing the Red to something that is not yet out.

It's more aptly named BBK-XL actually. More can be found on this link

It is the BBK-XL not the BBK2. I'm very excited to see how the new turbo will do vs. Red. It may be close

I doubt the BBK-XL will make the peak power that the red does, but I also doubt that it will have the lag the red does, and I also doubt that it will have as many failures as the red has, and I know I would much rather support the likes of cbrd..

My assumptions are based off a local guy who is testing the non billet version of the BBK-XL, and Im sure the billet version will do that much better. Cool thing is is that current BBK owners will also have the option of upgrading to the XL for a reasonable cost as well.

Yes, I agree! I think it will be stuck between the HTA Green and the Red based on HP numbers. However I think the spool will be closer to the HTA Green than a Red. I bet the BBK-XL will be a 550hp capable turbo. Hell, if I can manage to hit 450 on stock turbo in two weeks than there should be no reason why I can't get the BBK-XL in the 550 range Lets see what this baby can do Chad!

^you are also a crazy muh-fuggah, Mike!

The BBK-XL is definitely an interesting option that I would have considered but I had received my Red before even hearing about it. ssteve, you forgot one major assumption: I doubt the BBK-XL will take much more than 2 days to ship...as opposed to 2 months.

I agree that FP makes good products (hell, Chad is the first to praise their products) but the guys at CBRD are nothing short of amazing based on what I hear time and time again.

BTW - you are forgiven! LOL!
