I think this is a lovely idea and one which warrants more attention

Perhaps Mike can get us a track date in the winter?>

Im sure that wont be an issue.. The new track here is VERY FAST,, We are awaiting the cold weather anxiously as well.. I know the big dogs, allen johnson, Shumacher etc were testing here for a month and stated this is 1 of the quickest tracks they have tested at..

Well its been made obvious this thread is ONLY for BR supporters and if you are to disagree, OR make a statement that people feel is directed twards Dave EVEN IF ITS NOT you are not welcome and rudely told to leave and then cussed by people?? RIDICULOUS!! This type of attitude doesn't help anyone and just makes you look bad when you respond this way.

This could have been an informative thread for EVERYONE not only certain people to learn and ask questions etc, but its turning into something totally different IMO and from what im reading. Sad really.. But does it surprise me? NOPE not 1 bit!! Especially after being in the DSM community for OVER 10 years and seeing how these type of things ALWAYS seem to turn out. Sadly nothing has changed it looks like...

I thought maybe this thread would get down to solving the original issue with the cam sensor... but boy was i wrong. Now it seems its just a clique festival....

Ahh man that sucks *** to hear. 10 degree over advance might not have killed a stock car right away but 40psi 700+ whp sure would quick.

When you strive to be the best you can, you get tested. The strong climb higher and the weak fall to the ground.

Good luck on getting the car running again, hopefully the damage isn't too extensive. Have you opened the hood yet?

There are 100's of posts in here that are not BR supporters.. You dont know what your talking about.. It is common for certain vendors who knowingly do not get along to stay out of each others threads.. This is at request of the Vendors and Mods.. We have agreed that those who have problems with each other not post in each others threads.. It simple as that..

I may have missed the answer to my question since its 20 pages long already. has anyone had a stock ecu tune cam sensor failure that hurt the engine in a similar manner?

Thread can remain informative just certain HATER vendors need not reply in here.. They can create their own threads if need be and so can you.. No reason to reply in another vendors thread with 13k views...

Since no one seems to be helping you i will give it a try. Look at post #244 and read from there. They have failed on stock ECUs as well by what TT has replied to from his experience... But as he said they were very mild builds and nowhere near the power level Daves car is putting out. A lot changes from 300 WHP to 700+ hp as im sure you and everyone will agree.

It was also stated the cam sensors have went out on Haltech as well as AEM and stock ECU etc.. and when they do this the ECU has no idea where its at. There going to go bad no matter what ECU you run its just one of the things that do eventually fail on these cars from what my research is telling me.

I personally know AMS's Drag car had one go out on them "ON AEM EMS" but it didn't result in any engine damage. SO i guess its luck of the draw?? Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

The ECU does not cause the failure.. However its how the ecu handles the failure that is the question.. I am working on finding out the correct info as far as what happens when the Haltech loses sync what it does to handle that..

[QUOTE=davidbuschur;7557985]I'm not done, don't take me wrong. I just don't know if I have enough time left this season to take it all apart, fix it and get it to the track.[QUOTE]

There is another option as well, the NC boys are putting something together and this could be another venue for you to have available to break into the 8's:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/so...hootout-2.html

not quite as far as FL, a place where there really hasn't been a big vendor showing and a great event. I won't be able to be there since I'll still be deployed to OEF but it could be a great opportunity.

I agree Mark S., at this level of power and 10 degrees it may not have caught it but I've had the AEM save some crazy things. Last year we had just finished VWJeff's car. It was tuned on pump gas at 30 psi and made 5xx whp, then on race gas made 650'ish at 40 psi. The day he picked it up I got terribly sick for some reason, I asked Nick to put Jeff's pump gas map in the car for him. Jeff then drove the car around for a week or two and we met up at the drag strip. Little did he know he was actually still on his race gas map, running pump gas and 40 psi of boost. His first pass I about jumped over the fence, I think it was a 140+ mph run and we all assumed it was pump gas. I pulled the log and about **** myself. I found out at that point Nick hadn't put the map in like he thought he did and Jeff had been driving the car and now made a killer pass using his race gas tune on pump gas. The knock sensor was pegged and the AEM EMS was pulling the maximum timing and adding the maximum fuel, it saved the car though and here two years later the car still runs great.

I had a welcome surprise yesterday. I was talking with Sean Ivey on AIM and he said he had a BR Stage 3 head at his shop, used, they pulled off a car. Today Sean and I made a deal, he shipped the head overnight to us and I'll have it tomorrow. I'll have to go through it, it's quite a few years old but now I have a head that can be ready in just a few days.

I have opened the hood, can see the head gasket is blown but have not put a wrench to the car yet, maybe tomorrow.

I've answered and encouraged questions in this thread. Asking TTR to stay out of it is a simple matter of the two of us agreeing to stay out of each others threads, it's simple we don't like each other and to keep some of the panty wastes (if the panties fit, wear them) from crying about fighting we just stay out of each others way.

99% cars i tune doesnt have knock sensor, here is when time give you the experience, yea,i blow many engines in early 90"s when there was no wideband and when the came on was very expensive $2000.no dynos here in P.R for that time, almost no datalogging, only butt tuning and we Puertoricans were the fastest imports in planet.now we have knock sensors, wideband of your choice, dynos of all kinds and very nice datalogging,is here when we became lazy and forgot our roots of tuning.if i miss some of this tuning device i cant tune except for the knock sensor, i love Haltech units and you definately can tell the difference of the smooth working engine compared to AEM, you dont need ultra high mega end ecu to make power, fastest imports here have Microtech and thats a really crap ecu, just take it easy Dave,i bet my money on you!
