More broken parts for the Bad Bish
Mike
I disagree Mikey. Knock control saved my engine lastyear at the track when I made a pump gas pass on the race gas map at 40psi.
Dave, Let me know if you need a hand. My tuning schedule is starting to die down and I'm more than willing to come out and lend a hand if need be. I know you have helped me out before, let me know if I can return the favor.

I am really sorry to hear that David. There have been many speed bumps this year, but I have no doubt in my mind you will get the badbish into the 8's before the snow hits the ground this year. If theres anything I can do to help just let me know.

Sorry to hear about this David. You'll get the Bad Bish back together before the snow falls! If need be, there's a track down here in Cincy that's open pretty late into the season and is pretty lienient on the safety rules.
WOW! Why is it that i have just now heard this about the AEM?! Maybe i don't read enough on the forums?? A year ago the AEM was the best thing u could get for the $ and i had NEVER heard of this problem or i would have never went AEM
I run the AEM on my daily driver EVO that is making 700+whp on E85.... This has got me spooked now! I cant have my AMS block being blown to bits if my cam sensor goes bad...
Is there anyway to fix this issue without switching the EMS or throwing back on my stock ECU and going SD? Will the 12 tooth crank sensor fix it or is it in the AEM software and will freak out no matter what crank gear u have?

I'm sure that David will agree that he has no doubt tuned hundreds of satisfied customers who run the AEM with no problems what so ever.
In my experience the "aem problem" only shows its ugly head on cars which accelerate in an extreme manner and which run very high rpms. My pet theory is that the cpu processor can not keep up with all the tasks needed in those extreme applications and it literally crashes and the car blows up.

David. Sorry to here this. Its some what ironic that I read about this tonight. Just got back from a late night at the garage as usual. A couple friends and I were talking about why we keep messing with racing. None of it makes sense why we keep at it. My point was that is the difference between the one pass wonders, or the people that have all the elaborate parts and never do anything. They encounter problems and quit. Nobody is perfect. Its what you do when you stumble that matters. You have to have that drive to keep going, and you have to use every problem as an opportunity to learn.
The reason for the irony is that your name came up in the conversation. You are one of the driven ones. Drive is the most important part. I dont think I have any unusual talent. I certainly have worked hard to get where I am at with certain things. However, having a one track mind from a young age is the only thing that has got me as far as I have so far.
But I definitely know your pain on this one. We just had to take the engine out of the car in the build thread on here and your forum because of the oil pump failure last week. All signs point to the tbelt being too tight... All though I double checked him, and there just flat out was no way he had it too tight. The only thing we did differently this time was use an oem belt instead of a kevlar. When it was all said and done with, we R&R'd the engine ordered and waited on gaskets/rings/bearings from you guys of course, touch up honed, went thru the head just in case, and had it fired up in 6 days. I was happy with that pace for only working at night in his parents garage hahah.
If we dont get all the bugs worked out before the ohio tracks close we were thinking of heading south our selves. Florida sounds good!

My engine is available if you need it! Or let me know and I may be able to grab a day off to get the engine out for you
