overheating
I have a new 57mm pwr radiator, mishimoto racing thermostat, but car temp gets past half (stock temp guage) when its sitting idling or driving slow. My electric fan does go on as its connected to the fan controller and i dont think there is air in the system as i removed the radiator cap and let idle saw no air bubbles. Can anyone help??? Only thing I can think of is I bought a cheap 12" slim line fan off ebay (like $30) which the stats looked good. Do you think I need a higher quality fan? Thanks in advance!

try squeezing the lower radiator hose with the radiator cap off. When I had removed/reinstalled my Rad., I had the same issue and this solved it. May take a bit of time, but your forearms will get buff!

if the fan kicks on and you see the temp go down... then its working. It may not move as much air as a spal 1630 CFM... but a working fan is a working fan. how long has it been since the install of the radiator?... you may just have air in the system.... most ppl dont squeez the top hoses while the fill up the radiator.
hope some of this ramble helps you out....

i let it sit and idle for good 15 minutes or so. temp gauge reached just under 3/4 and fan didnt kick on this time. i checked the fan and it works. I have the fan connected to fan controller but didnt kick on.The fan on the ac condensor didnt kick on either. it did yesterday. soooo fustrating! Maybe i need to hard wire the fans so they are constantly on. I also squeezed the hoses to try get rid of any air

dude
my mishimoto thermostat was brand new when it failed on her maiden first drive.
it never opened or it never opened all the way causing my engine to overheat BIG TIME (blown head), I have wax all over the place.
I think everyone should boil water check every thermostat before they install it.
remove and run her without the thermostat and see if she still overheats, this will pin point stuff out.

I think it's not cycling your coolant.
Usually the fan comes on when the coolant cycles through the engine + radiator.
I'm not sure what controls cycling of coolant, the thermostat?
