I was just thinking if head studs are installed and car overheats bad will the head still blow, even with head studs?

There are no guarantees just because you have upgraded head studs.

The upgraded studs might hold it a little longer, but won't save you if the problem was that bad. What happened? How hot did it get?

nothing happened now, it was a couple months ago. My head blew because I overheated bad, the needle was up high and I was driving without noticing it
I now have a built engine (lucky me)
Im just thinking what I did wrong or what I could of done to prevent it again.

thanks for the honest responses

I think technically the head bolts should be fine, but I would replace them. I don't like reusing head bolts in the first place.

I've often thought that the temperature gauge and oil light (or better yet, an oil pressure gauge) should have a loud aural alarm. With the electronics they have these days how hard would that be to do? Still, you'd have the owner who thinks they can drive the 10 miles to home once it goes off.

The best thing you can do is be aware and check your gauges frequently while driving.

This is prolly the best thing you can do.. learned my lesson with my 2g when something kicked up on the road and hit the oil filter asselbly and cause me to drain all my oil going down the highway.. looked down say low pressure pulled over saw the WHOLE side of the car covered in oil and it was too late.. scorned all the crank bearings.... always look at ur guages thats what their there for...
