Rear Diff Options - Power Oversteer Found Here
I've been using shock proof heavy in the rear diff of the Bish for quite a few years. The wear in the rear end was unbelievable, the abuse this car has seen and the power it makes. The new rear diff I just built for the car I put the same shock proof heavy in because of that. I don't know how the diff is going to act, I'll find out soon.
I've run Mobil 1 on my motor for 8000 miles (90% racing), banging off the revlimiter at 8000RPM all the time, making 400+TQ on a Mustang dyno on the stock block for 4 years. Seems to work . . .

Just switched to AMSOIL race oil on my last oil change after I read about Mobil 1 changing formulation. As far as I know - Diaqueen is still the same great stuff it has always been. . .
my apologies
anyway, after a long day i'm finally home. i put the amsoil 75w110 severe gear into the diff with some additional friction modifier - car is running perfectly, not a PEEP from the rear diff which is crazy considering it used to sound like someone was hitting it with a baseball bat everytime i made a low speed turn.
if this doesnt hold i will definitely switch to diaqueen, but for now i'm pretty happy with the result

Can someone confirm that the TRE diff is legal for SCCA's STU auto-x class, for a 2006 Evo IX GSR?
Cut&Pasted from rulebook...
STX, STU, STR – Only standard (as defined in Section 12.4) limited
slip differentials (LSD) are allowed on AWD vehicles. For AWD
vehicles that did not come with any type of limited slip differential
(including center differential or transfer case), a single aftermarket
LSD may be added. 2WD vehicles may use any LSD unit.

But it will protect the ring and pinion.
I would run the Redline 75/140 NS and then buy a bottle of friction modifier.
Start running it without the friction modify and add until you end up with a livable sounding rear end.
