Rear Diff Options - Power Oversteer Found Here
Hes just busy building badass drivetrains. He is not active on these forums due to all the bs and politics, which I totally agree. From my experience I have always been able to reach him when I call between noon and 2pm pacific time. Also leave an email with a contact phone number.
Yeah, I didn't bother trying to contact Jon@TRE on the forums. I sent him a detailed email with my contact numbers (multiple) and a note that the timing was urgent. I know my urgency isn't his urgency, but I thought he'd at least respond in a reasonable timeframe. However, most folks have said he is very difficult to get a response from, and I see that was true. No big deal - I know he's a great guy. I just can't get my diff modified.

Good to hear you got in contact with him. He stays busy and, from his description of the place, has a good size shop. I spoke to him about it, he knows hes hard to get a hold of, lol... oh well, once you get a hold of him though its worth it.
If you are driving the speed limit and non-recklessly, then you arent going to realize the full potential of these mods, same goes for the acd flash. Both my TRE max lock and acd race flash were barely noticeable for me on the streets daily driving. You would have to be pushing the car fairly unsafe and being irresponsible on public roads. It wasnt really until I took it out at the autox and road course where the before and after was night and day.
I guess I will do a few more events and pay a bit more attention to it, but I would imagine it should be pretty darn obvious.
Well, took the car to Pocono for an autox this weekend (major hold up in my season this year), I still can't really tell my car now has a TRE diff. I have driven a friend's car with the TRE diff in it, and it was very obvious as you guys have mentioned. So I am not quite sure what to conclude out of this other than opening up the diff to see (which will be a major pain).

If you have been out to the same track or autox, with the stock diff and the TRE diff, it should be noticeable difference. Even a spirited drive on the streets you may notice something, but just cruising around you may not, or at least I dont.
that's true - i've had both 75w90 and mitsu sae90 in the rear diff, and it makes a difference. lot of slipping and banging with the 75w90, quiet and more subdued with sae90 - however, either way when i got on the throttle in autox = total oversteer. to not be able tell the difference at an autox from tre's rear diff and stock rear diff, regardless of fluid, seems odd
Thanks. My plan is to switch out the Diaqueen stuff and put in Redline 80W140 GL-5 to see if there would be any difference.
Would the 75W 140 NS GL-5 work for maximum lock-up? (not to be confused with the regular 75W 140, which has friction modifiers in them)

did you get the diff with a sight glass? does it look repainted? etc
