If someone ever offere a turbo with varioable geometry blades that would be your choice, unfortunately there is not such thing for Evos but there are for Porsche and VW in Europe.
Again, my suggestions would be HTA green by a long shot. I would also suggest getting it ported and get your manifold ported, IC pipes and a high flow air filter with a good air pipe intake(Perrin).

Perrin is overpriced garbage imo. Im willing to bed that the red only spools a few hundred rpm slower than the green so i thing the red is going to be my choice

im not running stock manfold and i have aem so no maf

The red was def. going to be my choice, until the new green came out. Dammit Fp and how come no 4" hardpipe intake for the evo, like the one for the dsm?

what maifold are you running tim?? You need to see my custom one that just got finished. as you stated you went with the top dog like me the fp black. Carlos you do realize the fp red is not to much slower in spool then the green. but i understand if you want in the powerband as fast as possible with decient top end.

Perrin garbage? do a search on the Perrin intake pipe with their filter, it had the biggest gain I ever seen.

Timmay81,

Changing the subject, I ordered a brand new HTA Gren this morning. I will let you know as soon as I get it installed, driven, tested, dynoed and tracked.

The Perrin intake is garbage, IMO. I have seen too many people with gunk in their pipes or the filter just cracking on them from the heat underneath the hood. It does a terrible job in filtering out small particulates from the intake air. Less filtration means more crap makes its way into your turbo and eventually your cylinders.

Thanks

We should be expecting a 24 psi tune or so on crap 91, correct?

Not to call you out or anything like that but do you realize that the 4" FP aluminium cast intake use to have a taper silicone adapter(depending on the turbo).

FP does offer indeed a intake pipe for the FP Red, Green and Black but it is made of silicone. Also the outer diameter is now 80-84mm so 4" would be a 100mm (too big).

I just ordered today a HTA GREEN and I had absolutely no need to get a bigger cover port. There is a lot of literature about bigger port =lesser surging but I know of a tuner that had difficulties already tunning a HTA Green with a bigger port cover and a specific intake pipe causing surging.

The tune, parts and temp conditions will determine the boost. I got my car tune in August in Phoenix at 4pm at 110 degrees and the car could only boost 23.5psi before developing knock. I am now running 27-28psi peak on 91 oct and absolutely no issues. I haven't decided what injectors I am going to use, I have a set of PTE 680 cc and a set of FIC 1050 cc but I might end buying something else.

Why the 24psi on 91oct quote/remark though?

Carlos
