So just the springs? Everything else is up to the task of 8k rev limit?

We have them on probably 20 cars without an issue.. However these are stock turbo cars.. I would not run stock springs on FP turbos or larger as they will float.. Stock Turbo 400-420hp cars we have atleast 20 of them running around without an issue.. The RPM doesnt change anything the valve float most times at Peak TQ not on top.. On top they catch back up..

How do you know when your getting valve float??I know lots of people running them with big turbos revving it to 7,800 rpms with no ill effects.

Like i said RPM has NOTHING DO WITH IT.. I have NEVER seen a car float on top if it didnt float down low at PEAK BOOST.. Boost is the cause.. You can have no float at 27psi and 30 psi immediate float.. You know from experience when you see it on the dyno chart.. The power dips..

Here is an example of 1 with no springs retainers running for months and months on 450hp with red.. Thing is he is on Pump Gas.. If it was E85 ill guarantee it float probably.. We gave it a shot without and never had an issue.. I have recently come across an E85 Red car with S2s that we did that as floating and could not control it without lowering boost and then adding GSC beehive.. Fixed..

I never really even thought about higher boost causing valve float...too much time building N/A Chevy's I guess. It does make sense though, learn something everyday, thanks Mike!

can you elaborate on the max torque causing float? it makes no sense to me, i understood float as the inability of the valve to follow the cam profile purely diue to inertial reasons, hence the higher the rmp the higher the chance of float....

Peak boost hits right around where TQ is.. That hard hit when the boost ramps in is where the valves usually float from my experience.. It can be 500 rpm after Peak TQ or so but from every case i have seen floating valves it starts long before high rpm.. As soon as you drop boost a few psi the valve springs hold..
