Something that I mentioned briefly and that Ted mentioned is BC's QC (quality control). It doesnt surprise me that some cars will do well with them as drop ins without cam timing changes. AMS' test showed that the set they got did not have consistent QC. Quality control is a 2 way street right? It can be that alot of them sneak through (maybe the ones I have seen) and are sub par. Some are "average" and are the same as they were engineered. On the other extreme are some that got ground "wrong" but end up right because the lobecenter is far enough the correct way to make good power.

adcgn45- congrats on your purchase and at a good price as well.

I have never said you cant make power with the BCs. I have said though that buyer beware and plan on spending more money in cam gears and tune time to make them right. Then there is the fact that they dont have much lift and will be limited on power after that point anyway. Like SmikeEvo said to someone else, I will take a hint and move on as well.

One of the local dudes here told me the same **** when I got my BC cams, "you probably made more power on the stock cams." Yet, I had to add fuel all across the power band in order to run them and my car felt WAY quicker. Wish I would have had a dyno comparison because I could use that right now. If my car didn't feel any different after installing them then yah, I'd be on the other side of the fence saying BC cams are a waste of money.

Sales gimmicks, Kelford fanboys, and crappy grinding aside.. I think the OP already said he is purchasing BC cams so the rest of this arguing is meaningless.

I think in all my research, cams are just about like clutches. There are people who live and breathe one brand, while there are people who swear up and down that same brand is worthless. Doesn't make either person right or wrong really, it's just their personal experience with the product. However, more often than not, on this forum it's purely word-of-mouth and just because some kid from Kentucky who has had an Evo for 6 months read on a forum that GSC cams make more power than HKS or whatever.. he suddenly thinks he knows what he's talking about.
I don't think there is one person on the top 20 fastest evo list that has BC cams...

Majority are probably using GSC S2 or Kelford 272s I'd imagine. I personally have the GSC S2s.
