WTF is with this cylinder??!!

Okay this issue is really burning my butt. 2.0 engine started blowing smoke. com. check cyl #3 low. Out it goes, in goes 2.3 with old 2.0 head. Car burns oil and as low comp. Change head for one with 19k on it and have it done. Springs, guides rets., valves. Super Tech valves, manley springs & retainers, ferrara guides. Still Burns oil has low comp in #3 cyl.. Fast forward. Out goes the 2.3 in goes 2.4. I notice it going through oil a little faster than I think it should. I comp tested it today and BAM!!! #3 cyl low comp AGAIN!!!! WTF!!! 2 engines, 2 heads and same issue in same cyl. At least the comp is now up from 120 in the 2.0 to 135 in the 2.3 now 140 or so in the 2.4.. Not that it gives a direction to the problem.
Some ideas on this would be good. Thanks all.

Can't be HG, different engines, you wouldn't reuse it.

Rings, no, different engine.

The only thing I would say is this: Did you use the same injectors for all of the engines??

Ding, Ding, Ding ^^ last two posts above. My friend and I (who was not emotionally charged) did some more digging..#3 inj was bleeding fuel into cyl. A little extra cranking allowed enough fuel into the cyl for a fine mist to be sprayed out of the spark plug hole...FUDGE!!!!! With luck we caught it in time so no perm. damage was done.

Hope it was cought..no real hard driving, no launches or racing. Just under or at 1k miles. I'll cross my fingers. the cyl showed signs of being saved. First go through the comp was low. On the second it would bump up some.
