Geez. That should've never gone together like that (the nicked journal), and that really speaks to carelessness on behalf of the builder. Hard to tell the condition of the rest of the journal in pics though.

Cal Speedway is known to kill Evos from oil starvation on the Roval. Not sure if that contributed, and no idea if running a 10w-30 on the track on a built engine where you normally ran 20w-50 contributed either.

Odd though. Exhaust valves and from manifold collector turbine o2 and down pipe are all light gray/white?

That's normal, those parts run hot enough, it burns the carbon white. Just like the hot parts of camp fire, the ashes are white not black.
