5 spd back to 6 spd?

no you can not turn your 5sp into a 6sp

stick with the 5 speed.. the 6 speed tranny is really weak! i regret buying an mr. but is great to know that you'll have 6 speeds and if you use the car as daily driving.. although it doesnt make much of a difference...

If you want the 6-speed, why wouldn't you just buy a car with it?

How good of a deal can it be, if you have to rip out the trans right away? Seeing how the car has a non-stock trans to begin with, I'm willing to be this is just the beginning of a long-running headache.

True, I believe if you pick this evo up and later down the road you wanna make more power it just like said above a long-running headache.

Keep the 5 speed! I destroyed three 6 speeds before I decided to UPGRADE!!! I have 700hp and beat the **** out of my car and no problem with my 5speed. It is stock GSR too.

To answer your OP:

You need

-The gearbox (1500ish used)
-Shifter base assembly (300$ new)
-Shifter cables (100$ new)
-Trans mount (70$ish new)
-Trans wiring harness (reverse & VSS) (70$ new)
-Center console plate (100$ new)
-Clutch (good to change while its out. Most places sell a different version for the 6spd, so the previous post may be inaccurate).

That's pretty much it. If you need any like new 6spd parts give me a PM. I did the conversion to a 5spd and have all my left over parts.
