for anyone that has crankcase pressure issues
First, I spent several days reading every single post in the thread and I was sure the 1/2NPT -> 5/8" hose to the intake pipe would fix my issues but I was mistaken
3 weeks ago I installed a XR BB Red and ever since, I get a blue smoke screen when coasting to a stop and taking off (e.g. coming to a stop sign; doing a three point turn; backing into a parking spot) and also while in boost, but much less noticeable. When cruising down the road and at a sustained idle it seems fine though. So this weekend I drilled out the line that connects the VC to the pre turbo intake to 1/2 npt and have a 5/8" hose from that to the intake but there has been basically no change. I still have the stock PCV hooked up. I haven't seen any oil on the intake side, just smoke from the exhaust. Stock block with 105k miles. No issues or smoking before the BB FP Red.
I have purchased the STM -10AN fitting for the rear of the VC and a 1/2" boomba check valve before I read that Tom went back to stock PCV and the large line on the side of the VC to the intake pipe. I was hoping that would be sufficient for me. I prefer to keep it simple.
Will the car be able to idle correctly if I increase the PCV flow with a 1/2" line and the boomba CV, removing the stock PCV? I'm assuming it won't idle well. Would running both enlarged VC vents to the intake pipe be good or should I just try venting them both to atmosphere?
I did verify my PCV functions. I pressurized it to 40psi and while it does leak it is a very small amount. Lightly touching my finger to the back side of the valve stops the leak, very little flow rate and pressure leaks. I'd prefer to keep the PCV system but I gotta get this smoking to stop.
Did we ever determine what application the purple .020" restrictor is for that FP recently put on their site? Maybe I need that?
Its an embarrassing amount of smoke... I wouldn't really care about small puff here and there or even in boost but this is ridiculous.
I believe the engine is healthy, its making ~430 whp @25psi running a little too rich (minimal tuning done so far due to the smoke). I'm going to do a leak down test soon and if I can find a compression tester, I'll do that too.

When I get time I'm opening up the rear port to -10 and I'll probably just VTA it with a check valve so it doesn't pull in un-metered air if the line to the intake happens to pull enough under boost and ditch the pcv.
Thanks for the input. Can you expound on your set up a little more? Did you run two back to the intake pipe and one to the intake manifold or what?

You guys are hiding an actual problem with your setup if you have to use 3 huge ports to remove the issue. a single 5/8 hole on the driver side fixed my car and many others 100%, and i make almost double the power then most people on here with issues. 750wtq the last time i had my car out. use your imagination to figure out the HP in that.

i didnt modify my valve cover yet I just run my egr as a vent also to the catch can and use the turbo to help pull the pressure out of the engine I have a 5/8 line ran to the intake before the turbo going to the catch can seems to work well car uses about 200ml per tank of gas not too bad. Same as its been since I first built the engine.
Any smoking my car had have disappeared. Will be able to tell reduced oil consumption after some mileage (did a fresh oil change at the same time). Will also get a better gauge once I get retuned at English in the next week or two (hopefully).

At 505 minor ftlbs, I was burning Oil like a Kuwaiti oil field circa Gulf War. Once I went for my solution, I haven't burned hardly a drop. Now, could your way work for everyone? Maybe. Most Likely. But dealing with the frustration that is the FP Center Housing....well....overkill appears.
I did state - COMPLETELY over kill. I'm the kind of person to do it once, and that's it. There is no iterative design here

In reality I believe you're patching an actual design flaw though, but if its working let it do its job! Def no downside to relieving to much pressure as long as oil isnt coming out with it!

Also usually for GTRs for whatever reasons, I didn't ask.
How did you end up routing your 3 vent lines? Did you VTA any? All to intake pipe for vacuum under boost? a combination? I'm assuming 1 from the original PCV port and one from each cam hump on the driver side of the VC? Do you get much oil out of the intake cam one or the pcv location?
Version 1
Version 2

I collect more oil/water vapor (E85) out of the PCV Location, it sees up to 22.7 psi of vacuum as I drive around town. The cam side collects its fair share of vapor itself. If I were to quantify a ratio, 4:1 output - PCV:Cam.

Built this diagram, the arrow directions indicate pressure flow. If I screwed anything up, I blame my lack of coffee. I'll take some pictures when I get home tonight and post it up.

I had tested out a 0.026" and 0.024" restrictors, but it required three additional fittings in addition to the oil filter housing. I'm going to give this guy a shot to minimize the number of leak spots.

Is there an advantage to having the two side valve cover lines when they just Tee into a single -10 over just having a single -10 from the front port straight to the turbo intake?
If you get 1/4th the oil from the rear VC side port I think I'll just drill another port there instead of messing with the PCV port for now and leave that hooked up as stock. I'll just duplicate what I did for the front VC sideport, on the rear and add another fitting to my turbo intake.
my VC and inlet pipe are going to look like swiss cheese... and the engine bay, a bowl of spaghetti...
