We havent seen any issues with the balance on an Eagle, the main thing is getting the galley plugs out, look in the bores, reinstall with threadlocker and prine the end over so they cant walk out. As soon as one of those is gone so is the oil pressure and the motor.

Hello,

I have some question !
The engine builder measured my 4G64 block, the bore is 86.53-86.55 now ! With honing It will be 86.56-86.57 . What is the suggested piston to wall clearance with the Wiseco 1400HD piston ?

On the 4g64 block with the Mivec had and the 4G63 belt we have to retard the exhaust camgear 3.75 degree ? What to do on the intake,- MIvec side ? It will be also off by 3.75 degree what you can set back ( retard ) in the Ecu ?
But until you dont do the JohnBradley posted mods with the Mivec cam gear you can not add as much advance as in stock ?

The Evo 9 intake camshaft position sensor is the same what is on the Evo 8-9 exhaust cam ?

The Evo X mivel oil valve is the same as in the Evo 9 ?

This would make a great sticky considering the growing number of people going this route. Great info here.

I will look and see if I have an Eagle crank laying around but if he looks at the crank its very obvious what I mean. On the throws there are 2 galley plugs that are allen head screws that need removed and dealt with like I outlined

could some one post the possible variations of the 2.4
and can you still come out with a 2.4 with a long rod ( do you use a certain crank)?
crank rod displacement ratio
100mm 150 2.4
100 156 ?
100 162
94mm 150 ?
94 156
94 162
88 ?
etc. this would help alot i just get confused so quickly sorry and havent made my mind up

the answer is get in my mind.. I need the head gasket for the block so I can go with the PE 87mm..
If I have 4G64-DOHC-GDI block than the 4g63 timing belt is perfect fit without mods in the mivec cam gear and advance or retard on the exhaust gear ?

100mm crank is stock...
150 rod would be stock setup (w/ normal pistons)
156 rod would be Long Rod setup (w/ custom pistons)

You would still need to mod both to make it work correctly for the deck height increase from the 4G63 to the 4G64. We have been using the $90 dollar Cometic with great success, so far all the PE headgaskets we have used have failed in service. They seemed very promising to begin with but arent working out over time and especially not considering the price.
